Smoot wants Vikings to trade for Gardner

So maybe we sent Smoot on a sabotage mission. Get them to trade us for Gardner then after next season demand to be released like some other guy. The he can resign with us.

yeah well i hope we see the vikes next year in the playoffs and make smoot look like a product of a great sytem (gregg williams), and he ends up being asked to take a pay cut or leave. and i hope we get a third round pick for gardner, cuz it will be minnesota's loss.

The funniest part of that entire interview was when he said he was a lucky guy for falling in line with bailey, green, springs and now winfield.......the truth is......smoot isn't a lucky guy, he's a number TWO guy who talks like a number one guy. Springs is our true #1 and Winfield is theirs.....we'll see see how fast smoot is on the turf and when he gets burnt all the time in the dome...I'll laugh....

You guys are disappointing me. Just because he signed somewhere else, all of a sudden you hate the guy? What did he do that was so bad? What?! What was it? He never said anything bad about the Skins. He went to the Vikes, deal with it.

maybe it's because last year he talked about being a core redskin. He said he would stay with the team last year. then he goes for the first offer.

I saw Smoot at his introduction and he didn't look nearly as comfortable or happy as he was here. I know that he's gonna be a very rich man because of the deal, but I think he still would rather be here, money aside. I think he really connected with the fans over the last two years and loves the area, but money talks. Would any of us done anything different in his shoes? I doubt it.

I would have, Smoot had a $10mil signing bonus on the table before the Cole's situation ever came to light, $10mil to stay in a place you love it's a no brainer, but if it's only about the money then he can go play in minnesota, but the NFL is a tough place to play when your stuck in the wrong situation, maybe it will be good for him who know's, I just don't see him being embraced by the fan's in Minn. as he was in DC, and I agree with management whole heartedly not to offer him that kind of money because IMO he's not worth it.

I still love SMoot luckily he went to my home state Vikings so I can still watch him, Vikes are may second favorite team (except when they play the Skins). Guess it comes from having to deal with these Packer Fans all the time.

So Smoot turned his back on the Redskins? That's what you all think? Maybe he did. You know what, though, the Skins deserve it. They're my favortie team, but the front office is one of the worst in the NFL.

2 things that I can guarantee the Vikes O will be better than ours and our D will be better than theres. I have no problem with Smoot its part of the business and with this team I have come to accept it. He is a great player and will do just fine with the Vikes. So who is gonna step up in Smooty's place. Harris I think not, Wilds don't make me laugh. Oh how bout Ade "has gotta go" Jimoh. Right now there is no one on this team that can take Smoot's place. So, now we may draft a cb and we still do not have any recievers. Well what are you gonna do with this team.

In reference to the third person thing, I agree. I cannot stand it when a player does that. He refered to himself in the third person 4 times during that one interview. I loved the way that he played in Washington and do not fault him for signing with the Vikes. It pisses me off, but I do not fault him for that. I do fault him however, for his character. He is not the type of person that I would want in my locker room if I were coach. Comparing this years interviews to last off season he seems to have grown a little too cocky. It is almost as if he thinks that he is bigger than the game. No player will ever be bigger than the game! There will always be someone better. If the Vikes is where he want's to be than good riddance. I missed him yesterday, but it is time to move on.
