lol yeah seriously

I know since he's the Prez he's taking the heat whether it's truly warranted or not. But honestly I don't understand what people want him to be doing. Maybe he needs to go down and stand on an oil soaked beach with a blow horn and declare war on the leaking well to make people feel warm and cozy inside.

I guess you missed it. He already "declared war" on the spill in that laughable address he gave.

FOXNews.com - Obama Declares War on Oil

You guys are missing my point so badly. All I'm saying is he should be more tactful about the publicity of his leisure time when millions of Americans are suffering from such an awful crisis right here on US soil. Perception is reality. If your visibly enjoying a nice round of 18 holes while that sucker continues to spew, it doesn't send right impression. If I'm wrong, then why is the press all over him for it?

No, I didn't miss it. He needed the bull horn to make it legit.

The press is on him because it's a story, right or wrong they are going to blow it up because it's a good headline. The press making a story out of something really doesn't speak to the matter very much to me.

I guess you felt the same way when Bush was getting pounded by the press for his response to Katrina. Ok, I know your answer. Bush did not respond quick enough etc........

Honestly, in hindsight Bush caught a lot of undeserved flak for what was an incredible disaster. Much like the crisis now though, the wheels of disaster were turning long before either one took office. The levees were a known issue and the gov't was well aware it was only a matter of time before a disaster of that magnitude happened. Was the response under Bush ideal? Of course not. Was it his fault? Not really. But of course as President he was going to take the heat, just like Obama is now.

Indeed.. the president can't change policy and get all of the agencies rolled out in 2 hours or anything. I mean it takes weeks to prepare for the Super Bowl or Grammy's and it's known well in advance when they're coming up. I don't blame the response on Bush for the most part.

Well, usually I feel the same way. I think in this case however, he does deserve some criticism about his response and the whole golfing/baseball game thing. Of course, I hope he succeeds with his efforts at getting the well plugged and helping all the poor families and businesses getting crushed by this thing.

All the news reports and pictures are so upsetting.
