I didn't really focus on his play either. In looking at some stats he did give up 8 sacks.. 2 short of being tied for first.. maybe there's more than what the stats are showing, I'd have to go back and look but if someone else has analysis that'd be great

either way, not our problem I think that it had more to do with Brown apparently not being as positive in the locker room, one year left on contract, and coming off of injury.. made sense for them to unload him now

Well, one of the very few tackles in the league that would make Jamaal Brown look like a plus pass blocker is Artis Hicks, so...good for us!

I think his move to the right side is what's really going to make this a plus move for us. He's a good run blocker, at least according to the Pro Football Focus numbers for 2007 and 2008. And though the Shanahan system is light on screens (especially compared to Zorn), his quickness on the right side gives us even more flexibility.
