More Fox News flipping out over bullshit.
I have had the news on this weekend < all of the locals > as well as Fox News , not once did I see this issue discussed , so how do you assume that Fox is " fliiping out again " ? The flipping out mantra was also used when covering Judges giving light sentances for raping children The Judge Cashman Story (gives 60 days for child rapist in Vermont) ... Vermont Cynic - Vermont Judge Sentences Convicted Child Rapist to 60-day Sentence ... of course Fox News got attacked for covering this case also .

Yup, more Fox News flipping out over BS.

Condoms for Kids: Provincetown, Massachusetts Offers Counseling to Children, and Courts Controversy - ABC News

It was a FOX affiliate in Boston, not FOX News that ran the initial story. And if it was no big deal why did the school board get swamped with complaints and "revisit" their policy? Provincetown is a progressive area and the locals had no issue with the policy. As far as I'm concerned their public school policy is their business, public schools are a local matter.

However, there's no way condoms should be provided by the school to any children in elementary school. Middle school and high school, there should always be parental consent. Sex Ed, fine as long as it is age appropriate and there's a parental option to opt-out.

When the police come knocking on the school superintendent's door and not mine for something my kid did, or when my son gets someone pregnant the school district will provide all the necessary financial support to raise the child, or when the school district can figure out a way to bring my kid back from the dead if he died of an STD, then they can give him condoms without my consent. Until he's an adult he's my responsibility, not the school districts or state's, and that being the case no one in my school district will give him anything without my consent.

Doggy, you can always borrow the creationists parents playbook...you know, tell them the birds and the bees story taught in school is not true.

Penis and Vagina...disgusting.

Re: Condoms For First Graders?

Here is a question that begs to be asked in relation to the argument.

Can you even physical have sex in first grade? I don't think all the parts work.

With my son we just say the proper names for all his parts, a hand is hand, a foot is a foot, a penis is a penis not a pee pee or some other silly name. He is two and he knows me and him have a penis and his mom has a vagina.

Lot of this kids are having sex becasue it is so taboo or mysterious. I rather my son know the facts and the consequences of sex rather then sweep it under the rug and tell him Jesus says you should not do that it is taboo.

Is it so horrible a 1st grader understands how babies are made? I guess I rather teach my son at appropriate levels in his life about sex rather then him figuring it out from a Hustler he stole and/or playing with Mary across the street.

Absolutely not...but instructions and encouragement to try it should not be in their lives.

Knowing how Mommy and Daddy made their baby sister is a far cry from getting an "insert Tab A into Slot B" sheet and a free condom to further engage the curiosity.

Some lessons are best left to parents to teach. Religion, sex and politics are among them.

Let the schools teach math, English and how to play kickball.

Re: Condoms For First Graders?

I'll come back on this argument now. I had no idea such a shitstorm would ensue.

I'm not sucking up, but Matty really is right. It's not the 1950's anymore. It's gonna blow your mind, but kids know what sex is. they want to have it. they choose it for themselves.

I dont condone it, but if they are going to do it, they need to be safe and know the risks involved.

This bothers me personally because i see the girls around this neighborhood, they have to be no older than 14 and they parade around showing off their shit. And it's not that they don't know, they want to. They want men to check out their asses when they wear bikinis and show cleavage. they know exactly what they are doing.

Any boy who has discovered their private parts are gonna want in on it to, regardless of his age. it isnt hard to figure out.

Other people want to try and shelter their children and keep them "innocent", and that's nobile, but kind of foolish. Kids need to know the consequences of their actions, and the only way i would know of to hide them from the world is like to join some cult or something that teaches you everything is bad...

I'm not busting on anybody, but maybe sex education for kids is a good thing, if it prevents the spread of disease and middle school pregnancies...

Re: Condoms For First Graders?

I was going to chime in but any debate with 1st and Buster is like riding one of these:

Re: Condoms For First Graders?

#1 - kids no sexy time - agreed. There should be no problem reaching a group consensus on this one.

#2 - kids are the responsibility of parents and society at large. No way we will reach a consensus here.

No.2: As I said to TTE, before we talk about what the appropriate solution is and who's responsibilty it is, would you agree that child sex has an effect on the public health.
