for all we know we already have a player better than him on our roster - one that we already spent a draft pick on. Groom our own players!

You make an excellent point based on your stats, it seems like alot of people miss Vinny although they say they don't. Vinny would of sold the farm to get this guy already. I beleive our WR's will step up this year better system & coaching.

Well, let's put it this way: if Thomas has even a 5% chance of becoming Vincent Jackson, we're not going to trade for Vincent Jackson.

Yes, lets.

Just pretend that Devin Thomas is the dog.

Well, lets put it this way: if the WR's we had were impressive enough the coaching staff wouldn't be looking outside the team at WR's. Clearly they are not satisfied with what they see or have now.

Exactly. This is an indictment about the FO lack of faith to Vinny's picks. Clearly they don't like Kelly (not sure about Thomas), but IMO Jackson isn't gonna get any better than he was last yr and seems to value his drinks more than his team and coming to DC is trouble, so trading the world to get this guy doesn't make sense. Why waste a future starter at OL,WR, S, LB on a questionable player off-field who IMO isn't a top 10 WR?

When it's all over, Moss is our #2 and T.O's our #1 WR Opening Night.

What is WR Vincent Jackson Worth in a Redskins Trade? - Hogs Haven

Just something to read, 29 days before Training Camp opens.

Re: Report: Redskins are pursuing Vincent Jackson

I concur, nice comparison about the stats, but we aren't part of the coaching staff or the FO. IF those guys aren't happy with what they had seen during OTA's then that is all we need to know. Devin might work out, but then again he might not. Shanny would know better than us. I say leave VJ alone. We need the draft picks and if Thomas is a bust we can draft a first rounder in the near future.

I would like the 3-way deal, but I don't like giving into the fat mans demands. If we could pull it off would a half hearted AH be better for the team or would VJ?

I agree hate giving in to *ss ^oles (can't even type his initials) demands, but if we sign VJ aren't we kind of giving into VJ's demands.

Re: Report: Redskins are pursuing Vincent Jackson

Well I think when you look at it like that, yes we are, but we are recieving a player that the coaches want to have be a part of the team, so in that sense we are getting something in value in return making it a win win situation.

Now the only problem I have is VJ hasn't quite proven much yet other than a couple of good years. This is where I might struggle to give a guy with his history a ton of money.

Vallin,

You think TO has been humbled enough to even think about bringing him in here??

I kind of agree with Vallin. It's a bit of risk but the cost would be a lot less and the return could be great. I've been saying for awhile that I think TO could still come here late. I mean he put up 829 yards in a crappy Buffalo offense last year and was much better behaved than in Philly or Dallas. If you give him an incentive based contract I have a feeling he would love nothing more than stick it to Dallas and Philly twice a year. Its not like we would be locked into a long term contract. If he does well awesome, if not we cut ties and move on. I would really like to see it happen.
