2 very solid pieces on the line will help a lot.. if you look at some of the best lines not every player is the best at their position.. or even top 5.. 1 great player at a line position can change the line and open up opportunities... losing one can ruin it nobody has a very solid line vs the pass rush in our division other than the giants and most of us have a pretty decent run line so basically it's a 3-way battle with NYG to see who has the best line |

Re: Could the Skins have the best offensive line in the division?
ridiculous? there's a reason that the word "speculation" even exists
there is reason to believe that roles/positions within the division will change and due to some instances it's not silly to think that we may be at the forefront of benefiting from our additions |

I agree, who knew there could be so much drama by asking if something COULD happen.

Random Arbitrary List
Best Offensive Lines in the League:
1. Jets - Any line that can protect a rookie QB and help lead a 31 year old running back to 1,400 yards rushing is always a candidate for best in the league. 2. Titans - A big part of Johnson's 2,000 yard season was the unit he had up front. The Titans have the best pair of bookends in the league with Michael Roos and David Stewart. 3. Saints - Best Guard tandem in the league by a mile and so much depth that they could afford to give us Jamamal Brown for what should qualify as nothing more than a tax write off. 4. Ravens - Gaither, Oher, Grubbs, and Birk. Guys who have either been to the pro bowl or are easily capable of making it one day. The quality in this group is scary 5. Vikings - One of the best left sides in the league with Mckinnie and Hutchinson though not as productive as they were a few years ago. 6. Dolphins - Very close to the Titans in terms of best bookends in Long and Carey. 7. Buccaneers - Say what you want about BA's time in Tampa, one area he didn't neglect was the Offensive Line. Had Aaron Sears not run into certain problems this unit would have been ranked higher. 8. Panthers - Jordan Gross and Jeff Otah round out the outside while my favorite Center Ryan Kalil is joined by former tackle Travelle Warton. Duke Robinson is a backup. 9. Browns - Joe Thomas, Eric Steinbach, and Alex Mack are a great start to this line. Tony Pashos and Floyd Womack do a nice job rounding out the right side. 10. Redskins - If Trent Williams develops into what we think he can be then this unit will shoot straight to the top 3. They also have a lot of young guys coming up on the interior. Other great lines: 49ers, Giants, Jaguars..

Sorry, but Schein? Adam Schein???? Who the hell is he???? Not to mention that reading that excerpt from his radio show made him sound like a goon. Or a fanboy.......

The line should be better but it's time to put on the pads.

And at the heart of it, that's all this thread (and the original discussion on NFL radio) is about.

I have the maximum amount of respect for that word "potential". Somehow, it always manages to find it's way into sports discussions. So much depends on it's development.

If BA built a line in Tampa then you know his first order of business would be to get ours fixed. He understands where it all starts in football.

Re: Could the Skins have the best offensive line in the division?
EX thread? Is this suppose to be funny? Someone is really retarded if they think we have the best line without having seen the line play a single down together.

Re: Could the Skins have the best offensive line in the division?
It would be interesting to see a survey that asks...
Which team currently has the most dominant line in the NFC east? Eagles Redskins Cowboys Giants That is why I said the thread was ridiculous....because I think it is unlikely to believe the Skins would win a poll like that with the educated Skins fans that frequent this site. Per the link provided: "Miller continued, "That might've sealed the deal. What once was a weakness.... To me, Adam, they may have the best offensive line in that division right now, and that's saying quite a bit." Schein nearly blew out my headphones with enthusiasm. "Jeez," he boomed. "Wow! You just hit me over the head with that comment! You're right, Mills! I didn't even think about that! You're a hundred percent right!"

I second that on Moving The Chains. That show should be required listening for all football fans. I could listen to those guys talk football all day long. PK brings it from a GM perspective, and T-Rock the player perspective. Love those guys. |
