Matty, did things change when Obama became president? Did Obama stop the crazy spending and the stupid revenue draining wars? Not trying to be political, but that is the best analogy that I can come up with. To quote George Carlin, "Forget the politicians, they are just there to make believe you have a choice, you don't, you have owners, they own you." Change general manager/new coach for politicians and you could possibly have the same situation in good ole DC. Like I stated before, the only thing that has thus far changed has been that the FA moves are somewhat smarter, meaning no more $100 million dollar contracts or over the hill old farts way past their prime. Our draft other than our #1 pick was questionable. We wasted picks on an undersize WR and yet another TE that was not needed. Yeah folks like to throw McNabb in as part of our draft, but he was a FA acquisition that cost us picks. Bottom line for me is that the overall philosophy seems to be win now and not really trying to build up the franchise over the long haul, which is what it was before Allen/Shanny was brought on board. I mean wasn't the big change we expected from these two was a solid long term plan to build up a perennial winner other than go for the big name FAs all the time? I know it is going to take time for the new FO to right the wrongs that were done under Vinny, but coming out going heavy on free agency doesn't bode well for me. And as for Snyder stepping back after over a decade of trying to be a clone of Jerry Jones, don't count on that being the case or lasting too long. He still is the guy signing the checks and a man with his ego isn't just going to do a 180 anytime soon.
