I kind of think we shouldn't do the Jackson trade, just because we need the picks badly.
On the other hand, getting a competent receiver -- in VJ's case, a star -- is probably the move we need to take us from contenders to favorites in the NFC East. It would be consistent with all of our other trades this offseason, which means that if the plan is to win now, we shouldn't hold off on doing this trade. With all of those sides presented, I'm not really sure what the plan is. The reason this trade hasn't happened yet is that the Redskins are still finding a way they can unload Haynesworth to soften the draft pick compensation on Jackson, but there's just no historical comparable as to how to value Haynesworth's contract in a trade. For the entire salary cap era, a contract like that was untradeable.
