Do you really think Alex Smith (TE Stanford) is going to be around in the third round? If he is, that might be the biggest steal of the day. I know folks here love the kid from UVa, but I think Alex Smith is at least as good and definitely has better hands.

Oh, and you had me confused for a moment with your entry "C Vince Carter Oklahoma" My first thought was Vince Carter is a forward and plays for the New Jersey Nets...

I don't know if he is. But we do pick early in that round and the observed talent 'below' Heath Miller falls off pretty steeply. In other words, there maybe higher rated players at other position that teams may covet.

He'll be gone by the top of the second round. There's no way he'll last till the third.

Another thing about the CB position, I think we are set for this year with Springs/Harris, with Wilds at nickleback, but it would be great if we could do similar to what the Eagles did and have a couple young guys ready to take over for Springs and Harris in a year or a couple. I think Wilds may be one of those guys, and if we draft a CB in round 1 or 2, we'll have the other.

I like that idea. Hopefully we wouldnt have to do it like the Eagles did. If we could gradually work them in. That is the cheapest way to go.

That's the plan. Springs and Harris are very capable, but you can't ignore thier ages. Wilds and Jimoh will probably battle for the dime spot.
