Yea, and he was probably the person that brought up the concern about Y2k or what ever that was called. It would not be easy at first but I could adjust and survive off the land. Not sure what the wife would eat but I could catch enough fish and kill enough animals to survive. I think I could survive but there are a bunch of people who could not make it on their and they would be the real danger.

I guess for this kind of scenario you're right, the animals would still be around. I was thinking more along the line of the book (and movie) The Road where there was some kind of event that killed off most animals and plants.
