Football is as much mental and emotional as it is physical.

I think Shanahan is taking the right approach, given the hand that was dealt to him and could have been avoided, and I support him 110%.
I agree, the approach is definitely the right one, I'd just like to see some form of resolution sooner rather than later.

The resolution is simple, all the Fat Ass has to do is pass the damn test!! Then POOF! it's resolved!

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test

I tell you what's childish and unprofessional, taking a direct deposit for $21 million, taking your fat ass home, and about a month later skip mandatory workouts, then request a trade because you don't want to play nose tackle. Now that's childish and unprofessional if you ask me.

Oh, I heard Haynesworth rolls up to practice in his Bentley yesterday. Real classy.

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test

I maintain that Haynesworth is getting exactly what he wants at the moment. He doesn't have to kill himself in camp, and ultimately, he's trying to force a trade. Even at his best in Tennessee, he was notorious for taking plays off. We were fool enough to buy his line that he wanted to be compared to Reggie White after we signed him. Albert Haynesworth will NEVER approach Reggie White's greatness, and it's an insult to White's memory to even mention the two in any comparison.

We all would. But like I said, all of this could have been avoided had Al been upfront and honest about things. He forced Shanahan's hand in this situation, not the the other way around.

This too will pass and the Redskins will be a better team for it.

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test

Fat Albert better get a refund from his personal trainer....how can you fail two 300 yard shuttle runs with short breaks in between?

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test

IMO i think big al took that extended "bathroom" break in between sprints to show up Shanny alil. this game of tit for tat is childish.

big al takes the money, demads a trade, etc

shanny, teammates call him out

shanny implies he is going to work big al hard when he gets back with the "we'll make sure he is in shape" comment

big al shows up, is aksed to do 2 sets of sprints that the other players dont have to do

big al takes extended bathroom break in between the sprints to say "hey i can play this game too" knowing that taking a break inbetween totally goes against the point of seeing how in shape he is and for shanny to push him alil hard for the first day

big al comes out of bathroom break and completes 2nd set of the sprints on time

Shanny says "FU you aint gonna one up me, the 1st one doesnt count b/c you took to long of a break, the one you just did after you came out of the bathroom is your 1st one, do another"

big al, now in full blown drama cry baby mode, walks thru the 2nd (really 3rd) set of sprints.

all this crap was pretty much yesterday.

now im hearing and reading he failed again today then walked his ass to his bentley? if that right? gesus this is middle school.

He received a smattering of boo's which was to be expected, on the other hand there was at one point a group that chanted "we love you Al" so go figure.

Hear is a portion of the story written in the Post:

Sopping wet in his gray nylon long-sleeve shirt, he finally acknowledged the crowd shouting his name behind the ropes.
"We love you, Albert!" someone yelled. He raised his hand in a mock wave just in time to hear the retort. "We'd love you more if you lose 10 more pounds."

I love the bold part!

A mixed reaction I didn't expect, but I did share a quick moment with a player I won't name about the feeling of offseason workouts going foreward. Is this type participation going to be expected to continue in the future, or is/was it because the majority of the guys wanted to leave a good impression. His response was he hadn't given it much thought, but if it is expected to continue he thinks there could be more Haynesworth's in the future minus the dollars.
