no need to get all the guaranteed money out of the way in an uncapped year so his cap hit would be roughly $6M less each following year? it just doesn't make sense to me - he's going to get his money either way.

btw, this is just me assuming that it was possible to get all his guaranteed money onto this years book. i have no idea if that was possible. can anyone comfirm?

Personally I think he should have been in on time, even if his guaranteed was only 35Mill.

Yes, levelheaded, he's the only top 5 pick that's been signed, I'd say that's levelheaded. Missing 1 practice is not a big deal, I think it's awesome that he didn't pull some bs where he held out until 3 was done so that he could work his deal off of that one, i'ts a big deal that he's in camp now and I think it was levelheaded to get in now.

well as far as I know we're still in decent shape even if there WAS a cap this year

that's a lot of money to earn interest on and I'm sure that's their reasoning

Allen's aware of all of this no doubt, freeing up that much space in future years could lead us back into the perpetual cap fixing
