Let me ask a question. Are there homosexuals in the Omish community? I don't see the Omish men wearing dresses and holding hands with each other. I don't see the Omish starting any wars either. I think we could learn a lot from their example.

Are you channeling your inner Ahmadinejad?

The Persians never did anything to me, nor has Ahk-Ma-dingle-Jihad. If you want to go off and die for nothing, be my guest.

Like Amish they don't have a gay problem. We can learn a thing or two from them, no?

Of course homosexuality exists in the Amish, homosexuality is universal. You don't see them because they are booted out or they're not open about it for fear of getting booted. I'm guessing there are plenty of in the closet Amish.

That sounds good to me. I agree with them then. People and their communities should have the right to decide what is right and wrong within their own community. That's been a point I've been trying to make. Matty, you've tried to make many arguements for the acceptance of homosexuality. You have to realize people like me will tolerate them but not accept them. To us, what they do is immoral and self-destructive to a community. We don't need that around us. Nor do I appreciate homosexuals eye-balling me. I used to live in the East Bay. Straight men do not appreciate the advances of homosexuals.

Many of the arguments that have been made are new ones. My cousin Ron is a homo baby bomber and to them it was just about sex. He doesn't agree with homosexual marriage because it will cause resentment. It has! Marriage to that generation was the last thing they wanted. The newer ones don't understand that we will never accept them or at least that aspect of their lifestyle.

I don't understand why people don't understand that everyone has their own preferences and I'm allowed to have mine as well. I like some people more than others and I try my best to tolerate everyone. If I had to choose between a room full of homos and a room full of Philly fans, I'd choose the homos. I don't really care for either but Philly fans, now they're just scum.

A guy who's comfortable in his own skin shouldn't have an issue being eye-balled by anyone.

Acceptance would be nice but tolerance is ultimately all that society can hope for.

The juvenile & derogatory comments really don't help your claim of tolerance though.

I decide what I am comfortable with.

What are you talking about? Who's being derogatory?

Living here in Amish country, you can always spot the gay ones. They're the ones with sequins on their quilts.
