Re: HUGE difference from 2009 preseason to 2010 present!
Given that we're in the middle of a major change throughout the organization, I expected preseason to be a bit messy. Still, I think there are some decent signs for the team:
1. Passing attack. Light years beyond Zorn's offense (and Gibbs II, for what it's worth). 2. Turnovers on D--an emphasis and it's played out well so far. 3. Better QB play. The reads from all our QBs make me happy, after the slow-motion JC era. Worries: 1. Run offense. Here I think the time it takes to implement Shanny's zone scheme is showing. Also, we don't yet have the players to do it, IMO. 2. Run D. Worries at the nose--is Keemu healthy? But this may also be a learning curve deal. Still, I don't think we yet have the personnel here. 3. Depth. My feeling is that it's going to take Allen and Shanny a few seasons to get everything in place, no matter what they say about McNabb and "win now." Bottom line: at least we don't look like a goofy gimick team out there. We look like a football team, for the first time in a while. Even if we're not contenders yet, I think it's hard to doubt we're moving in the right direction.
