Re: Mcnabb to miss Dallas game????
McNabb will play on the 12th. But a sprained ankle is unlikely to improve over the course of the season. You can still play effectively on it, as long as there is no swelling.

Re: Mcnabb to miss Dallas game????
4-6 weeks is the typical healing time for an ankle sprain, give or take depending on the severity of course, but his doesn't sound too bad. He should be able to play without much of a problem and be close to 90% by 9/12.

He's gonna play for sure. I think we all got a little too use to Zorn and his overly honest response to questions from the media.

Re: Mcnabb to miss Dallas game????
MS was talking about several players but I remember him saying something like this "I thought Kelly would be a day or two and look how that turned out" I think he's going with the glass half empty. Mental game to Dallas IMO.

Re: Mcnabb to miss Dallas game????
I don't think he is, but who knows? He might be thinking Rex would be good enough to pull it off. Thing is I am wondering if the crappy play by Dallas isn't one big mind screw in itself. I just can't fathom them looking so piss poor.

Add in the fact that Jerrah split camp between two geographical locations, in different time zones no less just so he could sell a few friggin tee-shirts, jerseys and ball caps. I did not even watch the game against Houston on Saturday evening, I already knew before kickoff that Dallas would have one thing on thier mind, not the game but the fact that after the game they finally get to go home and sleep in thier own beds. Thier camp started a week earlier than the rest of the league and just wrapped up on Friday. Then that game on Saturday. All they wanted to do was get out of there injury free and go home that night. |

With or without McNabb I'm very concerned about T. Williams blocking Ware. I see some help coming his way, which creates other one on one pass rushing opps. Dallas should be pretty tough in that area. If I was a dallas fan I would be a little concerned about the way Romo answered questions during the game on the sideline. He sounded very unsure of himself & he is usually pretty quick witted w/reporters, especially in such a meaningless game. I got the sense that things weren't great w/them, but it might just be a reflection of 1 bad night. The romo & felix jones talks didn't look good either, might be some friction there. I will really be worried if Rex is our starter. I noticed friday night that it seems he can put the ball on the money in the middle of the field. But rush him or make him go to the sidelines & he puts it in traffic a lot. His accuracy was like night and day when comparing the middle of the field to the sidelines. |

Translation - McNabb still can't figure out the offense. I don't want to embarass our prize acquisition on national TV against our hated rivals. When he catches up he'll be back on the field.

It has been reported he's been slow in picking up the offense, something that should not be a problem for a QB deemed "franchise", looking for an extention and paid accordingly. There are those who have made light of his latest injury, optomism begs us to believe he'll be ready to go on Sept.12th against Dallas. On the other hand, there are those who continue to look at his body of injury, seventeen games missed in the last five years due to some form of injury. At soon to be 34 yrs. of age, is injury a concern that's going to constantly be on the horizon? If so, should a longer look be given to a 3-4 yr. extention and at what cost? Given the compensation surrendered for his services, what exactly do/should we expect him to accomplish in a Redskin uniform that would enable the end to justify the means? Or, will injury continue to be a source of derailment, diminishing his ability to be effective for any extended period of time? These, and other questions IMO need to be both considered and answered before any final decision is made on securing his services longtime.

Re: Mcnabb to miss Dallas game????
Normally,I wouldn't be that concerned about Mcnabb being able to play...
IF,I was just going by reports that it's a sprained ankle...But I'll say again...I'm concerned that they're making it sound better..than it really is. I swear his leg snapped in 1/2 when that ravens guy bent his leg back like a pretzel on that intentional grounding play. As I said before..it looked A LOT like the Theismann leg break. So part of me wants to believe it's all coach speak and Shanny is just playing mind games with the Cowboys... Anotehr part of me thinks that maybe McNabb is hurt worse than being reported. Who knows? I do know this....Love the Rex and think he is playing very well with the exception of a few bad plays like the safety and pick. But overall,he's done pretty darn good for a backup. But my prediction of us dropping 40 points on dallas opening Sunday night changes from not only the points we score..but IF WE WIN...? I truly do not like that feeling. Shanny..you got fired over a year ago buddy... Now is not the time to play any ego against our most hated divisional opponent. Unless McNabb is limping out on the field.......YOU BETTER start Mcnabb. Because if you start REX... YOU better win!! That's all I got to say about that!

He seems to be walking around just fine. If the injury was severe he would be on crutches.

Re: Mcnabb to miss Dallas game????
It takes a few days for a minor sprain to heal, and it usually takes 3-4 weeks to return to playing sports, so we should be OK.
I think we are going to kick butt anyway. We will just kick it better, and be able to get our foot further up their butts with McNabb under center.
