That is exactly right.

Some people may not know but John Riggins was banished from the Jets for being a douchebag flake and he came here and was floundering until Gibbs arrived. Riggins even sat out a year in dispute with the team before Gibbs arived.
Dave Butz never ever participated in any offseason work outs or weight lifting regimen or Kumbaya events even though new coach Gibbs had just showed up and rallied everyone but Butz and Riggins to participate.
By todays' Shanahan standards they would be called malcontents and be black balled. Gibbs accepted them as is and won. There is no right and wrong in dealing with very talented problem childs just right and left.
Preach....I'd be, already am, very nervous about lining up Maake at NT for considerable time. From what I saw this summer, he's not ready. Don't know if it's that he's not fully healthy or what but if the Skins do plan on shipping Big Al out I hope they have another plan other than Maake

And it is not just Maake, the other starters as well Carriker (injury history), Golsten (not a big power guy, more of a speed guy) and the rest of our DL are not going to strike fear. Our Opponents at the moment only have to scheme and account for Orakpo and Haynesworth on obvious passing downs. Why do we want to get rid of someone that provides this good situation? Cause we do not like his personalty?
We talk about being an agressiv defense and dictating to offenses, Carriker, Maake and Golsten do not provide the level of physical play that will dictate to offenses and can make this system potentially fail or not achieve its goals. This system counts on pass rushers and disruptive style players like Haynesworth.

I'd think they'd look to PD a lot in the middle. I also wonder if they'd reach back out to Anthony Montgomery. He's in the UFL right now, not sure what the rules are as far as him being able to leave for an NFL team if the UFL season hasn't started yet.

Montgomery? Don't make me laugh.
We can re-sigh Ramsey and Betts as well.
Cerratto would be next.

Wasn't advocating it. Remember Montgomery is often compared to Haynesworth-in the sense that he wastes his talent, and he's not considered nearly as talented as Big Al. I was just speculating

Funny you should ask. Listening to Sirius NFL radio the other day and Jim Fassel was on (HC of some UFL team) basically if the UFL has started thier training camp then an NFL team cannot sign a UFL player until the UFL season is over.

So if the UFL is not in training camp but a player is signed to a UFL roster he can opt out of the UFL contract and come to the NFL.

Once training camp is underway the player is locked into the UFL contract until the end of thier season.

I am not sure if the player in the UFL is locked in until thier team is done playing example being if the team did not make the playoffs is he locked in until the UFL playoff period is over.
