If Vick humbled himself he would be an apt student for Reid's WCO.
Vick has every tangible trait a QB coach would love his upside was so obvious that i'm surprised people missed it.
But, for some reason I was basically in a 1 man argument against all extremeskins that Vick had upside.
Vick will probably never be as good as the QB Steve Young turned out to be, but the similiaities are obvious both left handed both were running QBs before they received top level coaching late in their careers. But, unlike Young, Vick was a winning QB even before he learned how to be an effecient passer.
I'm not going to hide the fact that i was a Vick fan and now i'm faced with rooting for my favorite non-Redskin to fail.

Call me crazy, but if someone put a 19Million tag on me, I would sign that in a heartbeat, and I think Vick would too.

IDK, are you sure you wouldn't take the money and want to play a different position 4 months later

Ok he has had two good games so lets not make him King Vick until a few more games.

More good games than Kolb has had in his 4-year career.

Starting Vick IS the right move for them this season, but he's not a long-term answer like they claimed Kolb would be.

I knew Kolb would not only fail to live up to McNabb's success, but will not be a capable starter. Despite the media's and Reid's claims I've heard, he looked horrible in his chances to play. Reid benched McNabb for having a bad game, Kolb came in and played even worse against that Ravens D. He threw a 108-yard pick 6 to Reed and another INT. He finished 2008 with 0 TDs, 4 INTs and 2009 had him with 4 TD/3 INT. Even in his big game against New Orleans with 391 yards in a 48-22 loss where they abandoned the run and he attempted 51 passes, he had 2 TDs and 3 INTs. Week 1 this season looked just as bad with 5/10 for 24 yards and a fumble before the concussion. He's a 4th-year QB in the same system, he should be past these mistakes. He's not as turnover-prone as Cutler...he's more comparable to Sanchez or even Patrick Ramsey, but I think the Eagles are quickly realizing they made a gigantic blunder by thinking they could replace McNabb with Kolb. He doesn't even look capable to start, forget about going to 6 NFC Championships. (to surpass McNabb's success)

They made an even more stupid mistake by handing him $12 million guaranteed in an extension through 2011, before he did anything on the field.
He just needs more time. They need to fix the O-Line. We need to develop him. Wait what? Sorry Campbell flashback.

Conflicting reports emerge regarding possible Kolb trade | ProFootballTalk.com

Could Philly trade Kolb?

Just them receiving a call doesn't mean he's necessarily available.

'Cause we paid through the roof?

One thing the Eagles simply weren't concerned about re: trading McNabb, was being caught completely without a quarterback. And they knew if they kept him for 2010 to make one last run at it, they wouldn't be able to generate a return for him. We gave them a second and a third, that's kind of a no brainer deal with their quarterback depth.

Put me down in the category of people who think that Vick simply can't perform at a level similar to McNabb in the same offense. But also, if the worst thing that happens to the Eagles this year is finding out that Kevin Kolb wasn't ready to be the object of Andy Reid's dreams, it's going to be a fairly good year for Philly fans.

The problem comes if Vick goes 1-3 in the next four weeks, then they go back to Kolb and completely waste a year for the development of their quarterbacks and receivers. That would be a disaster.

No doubt though, that the primary reason for this move came with beating McNabb and the Redskins in mind. If Kolb is as poor of a passer under pressure as he has shown to be to date, he would really struggle against our overload schemes. Whereas Vick will play fairly neutral to what the defense is trying to do to him.
