Re: Andy Reid names Michael Vick as team's starting quarterback
I love everybody on this site but can we please give the "Michael Vick dog fighting" thing a rest??
The fact is, the man has paid his time for the crime he committed. I don't hear you guys complaining about all the players that have DUI, or domestic violence, or even players who have killed human beings as a result of their actions... Give it a rest....

1st time I've replied in this thread...
Personally,I like the Campbell bashing thread much better. I have 4 dogs,so it's best for me not to give my opinion on a dog-killer.

Like it or not Vick is going to be forever tied to dog fighting no matter what happens.

Re: Andy Reid names Michael Vick as team's starting quarterback
But why do people give animals more rights than humans?
You dont hear anybody crying about Ray Lewis or Donte Stallworth, who killed human beings, or even Pac Man Jones, who twice was involved in a shooting. Dog Fighting is inhumane and horrible, but nobody was lobbying for those other players to get lifetime bans...

Vick's on pace to have exactly 4000 yards by the end of the season. He's averaging 250yds a game.

Re: Andy Reid names Michael Vick as team's starting quarterback
From most of the highlights I've seen Vick has had plenty of time. Of course he can buy time if there's no one open.
How Haslett calls this game will be just as or more intriguing than McNabb's return to philly. I think Haslett will be on his game. After 3 games he's seen what this defense can and can't do. I look for him to drop more in coverage & run some delayed blitzes. We'll get burnt at least once by Vick - Jackson, but I have a feeling the D will have an otherwise big game. |

Re: Andy Reid names Michael Vick as team's starting quarterback
We'll show up this week. We always seem to play down to and up to the competition. I hate that.
Our disaster of a team nearly beat New Orleans and San Diego late last year, but gave a bunch of teams their first win of the season in what should have been the cakewalk portion of the schedule.

Plus the div. games are always an exception to the rule. Even though this is a new staff, there is a lot of knowledge of the iggles on this team. We've matched up well w/them the past few years though they swept us last year.

San Diego pulled their starters. Rivers was carving us up and it would have been a blowout if Norv came in with guns a-blazing all day.

^ The Saints were still gunning for 16-0 at that point, they didn't lay down. We stepped up, despite the coach in your avatar.

Re: Andy Reid names Michael Vick as team's starting quarterback
I can't find the initial report on Twitter but a lot of people are saying that Vick is out for six weeks with broken ribs. Team plans on contacting Jeff Garcia.
Per Mike Prince: Vick reportedly with broken ribs and could miss six weeks. #Eagles. Nothing confirmed about 2 hours ago via Twitter for BlackBerry® Edit: X-rays negative on Vick, but pain persists Posted by Mike Florio on October 3, 2010 8:22 PM ET A league source tells us that the initial news on Eagles quarterback Mike Vick is encouraging. X-rays on his chest/ribs were negative. But we're told that Vick remains in pain, and that he currently doesn't know whether he'll miss any games. The team has said an MRI will be conducted on Monday. If he does miss games, a two-time former Eagles quarterback could be coming back. Jeff Garcia's agent, Doug Henrickson, told me that Garcia is interested in returning to the NFL, and specifically interested in returning to the Eagles. It's unknown whether the Eagles are interested in Garcia, but they should be. The only option behind Kevin Kolb is rookie Mike Kafka. And as we explained earlier in the day, Garcia can leave the juggernaut Omaha Nighthawks if Commissioner Michael Huyghue approves, and if someone pays the $150,000 buyout fee.

Re: Andy Reid names Michael Vick as team's starting quarterback
Nighthawks are beast with Garcia and Clarett. They'll miss him. All this talk of how the Eagles were better off without the injury prone McNabb, and both Kolb and Vick have gone down this year
