Re: It's Donovan's F-ing Homecoming Week
After last week I don't have any faith in this defense. I know McNabb will be highly motivated, so for his sake I hope the whole team steps up and puts it all on the line for him.

Re: It's Donovan's F-ing Homecoming Week
I think we have a chance to win in Philly. Last week's game was an anomaly, as we were amazingly emotionally flat. But we've seen that players on this team can play quite well when they are motivated and I think they will be motivated this week. Plus we might catch the Pigeons napping the way that we napped on the Rams.

That, and that two of our planned NTs suck. Kemo is not getting any better anytime soon no matter how emotional he is nor is AH going to play well when he's being told to rein in his instincts.

Re: It's Donovan's F-ing Homecoming Week
Pay closer attention. Relative to the coordinator making the right calls and utilizing the players talents correctly, emotions play a small role.
Besides Now Kemo getting fired up is going to save him from his roller skates? Golston get super-human strength? Hall doesn't slip? Reed Doughty will suddenly become an elite safety? Rogers will catch the ball? All because they're more emotional? PUH-LEASE

Its not just emotion. You also have to maintain discipline especially on defense otherwise you will frequently be caught outta position.

Re: It's Donovan's F-ing Homecoming Week
Yeah we have a shot this week. I don't think we're nearly as bad as we showed last week. Big division game this week, they'll be ready to play. (I hope)

Re: It's Donovan's F-ing Homecoming Week
This team does have a tendency to play to the quality of their opponent from week to week. Bit us in the ass against the Rams, but it could work in their favor this week. Also the slight possibility that success starts to get in Vick's head. If he's not really one of the best 5 qb's in the league (as he's looked in 2 1/2 games) then the correction should come soon. Let's hope it's against the Skins.

Re: It's Donovan's F-ing Homecoming Week
You'll get everything McNabb has to give and he is a great leader. I think he can get the rest of the boys fired UP. I expect to see a much better effort.
HELL, I expect a win! HTTR

Re: It's Donovan's F-ing Homecoming Week
This game has so much significance for more than just the standings. The kind of reception McNabb gets going back to Philly for the first time is one of the things most people will be watching for.

Re: It's Donovan's F-ing Homecoming Week
Anyone else looking forward to seeing a bit more of Torain in the game this week? He seemed to be running with a nice pace on Sunday, looked good. I wasn't all that impressed during the preseason, but I liked what I saw against the Rams.

Re: It's Donovan's F-ing Homecoming Week
Needless to say I hope Donovan has a great day and most of all the Redskins win the game. McNabb needs a good performance in this game to boost his own self esteem.
In the first two home games I was checking him out on the sidelines through my SwaroVison, you could sense from his body language he's not accustomed to the kind of defense he was witnessing. Teams found it more difficult to come back on Jim Johnson's defense than what he was seeing from this defense. He had that look of "I've put up 27 points and it's evaporated" what more do I have to do. He could definately use a morale booster. Last edited by Longtimefan; 09-29-2010 at 07:24 PM. |
