I just try to get the ball rolling, then everyone else can pick up with their own smackdowns.

That said, I simply forgot to mention Bidwell.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins at Eagles)

I haven't read all the way through this thread -- but a few things I noticed.

1) Big props to Haynesworth. While he's made some good plays all season, he was great yesterday. Especially on 3rd down. Keep putting this guy in the game, he's a difference maker.

2) Defense played better. I like seeing more 4-3 looks than 3-4. We simply don't have an NT on this team and we don't have the LBs to pull off the scheme. I like us out of it from time to time, but 4-3 base -- for now.

3) Orakpo -- I know you're getting held man, but the best get held and still get sacks. Time to have some production. If I'm Shanny Im going to the officials before the game and asking them to watch the LT for holding on Rak -- but he still needs to fight through.

4) Overall, an ugly win. McNabb completed 8 passes. That shit won't fly. For a second I thought Joe Gibbs took over play calling for the 2nd half of the game. Glad to get out of Philly with a win -- but like we should have won the Texans game (that dude dropped the ball) we should have lost this game (Eagles WR [avant?] dropped a ball that was right in his hands. They should have never even been in position for a late game drive to win it.

Holding calls are just as good as sacks if you ask me.

Yes they are...they are certainly better than nothing. Rak has been killing it all season long. By the time the season is over I'm sure he'll have Pro-Bowl numbers and let's not forget he plays LB lot.

Part of me wishes there were two options on holding. 15 yard penalty or 5 yard penalty with loss o down (edit: As they say in the Irish NFL league).
