During the 1999 off-season, Casserly acquired veteran quarterback Brad Johnson who responded with a Pro Bowl season and then won a super bowl with TB after Snyder got rid of them.
You can find almost any GM has picked poorly in the draft from time to time.
But one thing I can say is Casserly was a million times better than Cerratto .

Bobby Beathard was the GM in the '87 strike year, not Casserly.

And what happened with all those players acquired from the Saints in '99? Can anyone point to the success of guys like Nate Stimson, Derek Smith, Jeff Hall and Tim Alexander?

Here and there he found some gems, no doubt. But the overall performance says it all -- he was the general manager of two teams that either fell completely flat on its face (the Redskins of 1993 on) or the mediocrity of the Houston Texans.

But yes, I'll concede that he's better than Vinny.
