You can drop cassettes without killing them. Drop a CD in your driveway and there's a good chance it's done. Now sound quality...convenience of finding a song instantly...there's no comparison. I still have all of my old cassettes from the 80s and they'll play. They have durability as a strength for sure, unlike VHS tapes that break down and become unplayable over time, especially if not rewound completely.
