Donovan isn't getting benched for good. He had a rough day and Shanny put in Rex to try and start a spark. It obviously didn't work out. This team is still a work in progress and probably will be for another 2-3 seasons til the right pieces are put in place. That is why I am second guessing the acquisition of Donovan. He is obviously worthless(any Qb would be) with a crappy o line and the accompanying non existent ground game, so it sort of defeats the purpose of acquiring him in the first place. Those picks could have been spent on two linemen or a lineman and a WR, or even a decent LB or CB.

Exactly. Could not agree with you more. The problem is you don't bring in Shanahan for a rebuilding project. IMO..and I've said this before, we should've just done what Tampa Bay is doing. Instead we've got the oldest team in the NFL that is probably going to win 6-8 games, 9 if we're lucky.
