Its really funny to read this thread and see this crap being spewed about jobs, econonmy, big business hoarding cash like every american household, presidential vacations, etc. And how people think that this is a new problem.

Its really sad. Ive heard no tangible plan from either side on how we get this under control.

Its also funny that people want to cut government and blame it, but also look to it to solve its problem....thats hilarious
If you look back in this thread I said I'm happy with a lame duck congress for the next two years.

Im sure you do. Im also sure you stand with a drug addict Rush Limbaugh who hopes this president fail, because you enjoy seeing families across this county struggling, losing everything in a Bush-led trickle down fail economy.

Is that fair to assume as well?

No I hate to see people fail but I also hate to see a trillion dollars spent with little to no results and yes I hope Obama fails to pass any more of his agenda. By the way I don't listen to Rush but it seems that you might.

So you say this but you also say this:

Bottom line who expects "real change"...Nothing from from the tea party or republicans or democrats said anything they havent said before...cut taxes, cut spending, blah blah blah

I would like to see the state, county and federal government shrunk...I mean real cuts, like Great Britian recently did...I say start with the military and defense budget cut that15-20%, cut welfare 10%, federal salaries freeze and re examination of who makes what and make cuts. On a local level cut emergency services, police and fire....anybody familiar with "overtime" and pay scale knows police and fire is an effing rackett, alot of people sitting on their ass working 3 days on, 4 days off at incredible pay rates

So what do you want more goverment or less.

I want smarter government, less in many places, but I want regulation in other places. The last couple years the Economic crisis and Environmental (oil rig, spill) crisis states Big Business refuses to do the right thing and follow the rules in place. Unfortunately lot of why this occurs is ethics, this country is so damn fat it continues to stuff its face and wont push away from the table. Blah blah blah...

Anyways a little article today from my neighborhood and the local government which references a little rant of mine above: Audit reveals Henrico's top overtime spenders - NBC12 News, Weather Sports, Traffic, and Programming Guide for Richmond, VA |

I know Henrico has grown over those 7 years and maybe the police, fire departments, etc... have not hired enough new people to handle the extra work load. It could also be a case that paying over time is cheaper then hiring a few new people.

lol...its not though. Its taxpayers money sitting. I have a family member working in Hanover county, just above Henrico. She sees the budget fights...its a f*cking raquett. Its a joke. You sound like someone on the board of supervisors spending it..."the county has grown, therefore the need is up...." Boy, so when its the federal government its not cool, but your local it is? Im sure you will support the generalist sitting there writing grant after grant to the Federal government for money too. The story is about waste

Between you and over the mountain I don't know which one of you have the worse reading comprehension today. I never said I supported bigger government or what is going on their was OK. My point was that maybe the reason for all the over time was because IT WAS CHEAPER then hiring more cops, firefighters, etc... When you hire people you then have another person to pay for their health ins, social security, retirement, 401, etc.. which can be more expensive then paying the overtime. That's all I was saying.
