Re: Its Fu**ing Eagles Week!!!!
I think some of you guys really underestimate Mike Shanahan and McNabb sometimes.
You would think how many times 5 kicked our asses especially on MNF, that you would have more faith. Philly is a top 10 team but yet we did BEAT them remember? So what makes this so different? Don't tell me Vick bcuz he played for the whole 1st Qtr and we were up 2 scores.

Not sure which on bothers me more. Hopefully Torain can go Monday. I know CP is done and Banks needs 1 more week, but does anyone know the status of Landrys achilles?

Re: Its Fu**ing Eagles Week!!!!
I just hope we win the damn game. If we can rattle off the next two weeks with W's , it should make the road to a playoff seed alot easier. We drop even one of them, say to 4-5, 5-5, or worse to 4-6, stick a fork in us, we're prolly done...............500 wont get us to the promised land, not even close.
If this team was built to "Win Now", then the next two weeks are the most important of this season. Two winnable games, and the team is as fresh as it will ever be. Whatever happens the next two games I think will define what type of team we are. A struggling, underachieving team sliding by with cheap wins (sadly, Im leaning more this way), or a veteran, pressure savvy team with good coaching (hopefully). |

Re: Its Fu**ing Eagles Week!!!!
Sometimes, our own fans don't have as much faith as they should...
Yea,we did lose to the Rams and Lions, but 3 of our 4 wins are against teams with 5 wins right now. and 1 of those 3 has 6 wins. and 3 of our 4 losses are against teams .500 or better. and 1 of those with 5 wins... Not too bad for a team thrown together with a new coach on Offense,Defense, new QB and new defensive scheme imo... Should we be better...? Sure But we could also be the dallas cowboys as well. If we can continue to win the HUGE games,we will be in good shape for a playoff run.

We beat Dallas (very barely), and they are 1-7, nothing to get excited about. Loss to Houston, we put up 27 points can't complain here. D steps it up we win this one. Lots of guys steped up and showed us some new found talent so I don't sweat this loss. Still early in the season. Lost to the Rams, Hmmmm... not looking good, but could have been our off game, kinda like NE had against the Browns. OK I'll give them that loss. But we should have won this game. We beat Eagles (barely), and they played without their starting QB, yes there is a great argument that we were up 14-0 when he went out and that cant be denied so OK I'll take that win but... Not still convinced. We beat GB. Now we have something to get excited about, we beat a great team with Rogers at the helm. O and D were on all day. This is the kind of win that helps set teams in the right direction. This win instils confidence and can bring a team to life. Colts 24-27 For Matty, I call this a losing win We hung with one of the best in the league. Team showed they can compete! Is this my Redskins? Bears, Win. No excuses here. we won. OK we can compete. The Lions were simply a better team that day. McNabb had a "off" Shanny had a "off" day. McNabb was benched and we went into the bye. Now, looking at Monday Night against the Eagles. Vick is back and better than ever. not many injuries on their side and historically we split with them. best case scenario. We have some key injuries in Banks, Landry, Portis and Torain. We are at home and McNabb needs to prove he is the superior QB vs Vick if he still cares about that after coming off the bench. This is without a doubt the game that determines the reality of the Skins. We win with authority, we are legit and we go into the rest of the season full of confidence, all rumors are put aside and we can assume Shanny and McNabb have put things behind them. We loss and the "I told you so" was right, and we enter into the toughest part of our schedule with the rumors flying and the QB situation front and center. We have to win this game! HTTR. Re: Its Fu**ing Eagles Week!!!!
The Skins offense had a R.I.P moment in the second half of the first Eagles game. Our running game is worse with now Torain and Portis both injured. Brandon Banks will probably not start as well, thus taking another of our equalizers off the field.
Also, McNabb was stuffed for under 150 yards passing in the first game. NOT GOOD.

Re: Its Fu**ing Eagles Week!!!!
SirClinton Portis's sig: "Fire Haslett. Hire Wade Phillips."
That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. Not only would our secondary start looking like Dallas's secondary, scary (not in a good way), but when the defense blows it hard they just get coddled to death, and petted, and petted, and told that everything will be allllllllright... Bull S.

Re: Its Fu**ing Eagles Week!!!!
I would love to have Portis, if even just on 3rd down to block what a difference the protection has been without him. I believe win or lose Mcnabb will play well after being benched. I think we pull it off. Especially with cole who was erased by T. Williams talking sh*t.

Re: Its Fu**ing Eagles Week!!!!
The win at Philly wasn't convincing but hell how many are ... It would be nice to see us start hands-down beating some people by dominating them in every facet of the game though.

Re: Its Fu**ing Eagles Week!!!!
Honestly, this is the way I see it,in comparing the two between Vick and Kolb against our Defense and from last game.
1)When Vick is starting, their ability for the BIG play goes way up,whether it's a long pass from Vicks big arm to Maclin or Jackson or whoever. However, their productivity goes down. You're more likely to see 3 & outs, much less running the ball because of Vicks great running ability & BIG arm. This in turns makes them 1-dimensional as picking a Defense to stop this kind of attack because of lack of attentions on any running plays between the tackle or outside. Although Vick has not thrown an INT to date,he's prone to getting injured, fumbling and making bad throws every so often.SUMMARY: If you limit the big plays by Vick from his long bombs and huge runs from scrambles, while putting some king of pressure on him to make him uncomfortable in the pocket...you have a good chance of him making a bad throw and costly mistake. With Vick in the game, they focus so much on watching him make plays or putting him in position to make big plays, that they get away from the easy fundamentals of just trying to move the ball consistently and getting any kind of points on the board to win the game. It's not so much you have to stop Michael Vick, but Vick is somewhat like they used to game plan for Barry Sanders...you won't stop him...you just need to contain him.If you do that, you beat them. 2)When Kolb is starting, their ability for the BIG play, goes way down. However,Kolb gives them more of a balance on Offense and more efficient one. The team focuses more on distributing the ball to all weapons and getting 1st downs.Although Kolb doesn't have Vicks rare ability,he does offer a little mobility but less of the arm downfield. So the team uses a more balance of runs, screens and dump offs to gain 1st downs. This in turn makes any playaction way more affective because of the style of play,so they are likely to catch a defense sleeping from all the short passes, than when Vick is in the game.Kolb however is prone to more sacks and relies on his passing accuracy to be affective. If he's not on his game, then it stalls an Offense with good weapons and forces the team to run the ball, which is what they do not want to do. But when Kolb is accurate and playing well, there's no doubt, that their offense is more tougher to stop because of the amount of weapons they have and their ability to spread the ball around. Kolb also takes less risks than Vick...Kolb may not have the talent that Vick possesses, but he's more likely to keep your team closer in a game, towards the end of the game, but less likely to blow a team out of the water as well because of the clock he uses in games when running an offense.SUMMARY: Although Vick is a much better pure athlete than Kolb,Kolb actually presents more of a problem to the Washington Redskins than Michael Vick. The reason is because the Redskins have not had the ability to blow a team out of the water on any level against anybody, but they have also been able to stay close against any team,no matter how explosive that teams Offense is. The Redskins also have used great Defensive plays off turnovers and Special teams plays to keep them alive in such tough matchups. So the best way to beat a Redskins team is good efficient play at the QB position and not some superhero, trying to make a big play everytime he steps on the field. It's why manning was able to win with No INT's,it's why Bradford was able to win in his game with the way he sustained long affective drives and why Stafford was able to win in his game against a Redskins Defense. It's also why Green Bay lost on a Rodgers late game INT to Landry and Cutler throwing darts to D.Hall. So all in all......Yea,Vick may offer the big play for philly, but he's also more likely to make a costly mistake, that keeps the redskins in the game and able to win. He's also more likely to be frustrated and play terrible in a Redskins Blowout as well. This doesn't happen with Kolb. So all in all.....I'm actually glad,we are facing Vick instead of Kolb! and this is my report on this thing... (sorry for any mis-spelling...That's a lot of typing) ace
