So was his father and his father before him, that's the fan era he became so emotional about. There are people around the country who make mockery of what we do here, say all sports jocks, whether it be Radio, TV or social networking need a life and they're entitled to their opinion.

Interesting, My Grandfather was a Skins fan and my father was a Skins fan and that is the reason I am a Skins fan. Dad put the Redskins hat on me at birth. I now have 3 boys of my own and I have to admit, I hesitate to curse their life, so I tell them to watch all the games and pick the team they like best.

Sad that I actually have to do this with my boys, but as most of you guys that have been a fan for 20 years or more and have young boys, know what I'm talking about. Thats a testament to how bad this team has been and how hard it has been to suffer as a fan for life.

Thank God some of us got to see the 80's team but, that was a long time ago.

So I share anyones frustration and hold nothing against them for expressing themselves as loud and nasty as they want to be.

When was your dad a Skins fan? Just asking because the Skins of the 50s and 60s were mediocre to average so I'm sure he suffered just as much if not more

I think if you look at it, all great teams goes through periods of great success.........and something less. YES, it has been a tough road for some time being a Skins fan.
BUT, I think they are on the right path for some extended success. THOUGH, not without some growing pains...HTTR

Wow, that is both sad and you're a good dad, lol. Don't burden them with liking the skins, can't have your heart broken year in and year out from such a young age. (personal experience)

I personally think being a Skins fan is great. And dealing with the losing, frustration, etc. has made me a better person.

I would not have it any other way. The opposite would have been rooting for any front runner, and constantly changing teams, etc. If everything is always a good time and an easy win, that is not reality. True passion isn't developed either, unless you have experienced the lows.

That's not saying the loss wasn't embarrassing and pathetic, but I am bigger and better than to just let emotional and anger drive my thoughts.
