Those standings are more important than actual NFL standings because those standings measure how much of a good team you actually are, not how many wins you have.
Honestly, the Warpath is giving me a headache these last few weeks. Between "real" facts, real facts, woulda shoulda coulda facts. I don't get it.

We are 5-5, that's it. There is no BCS. There is no fairy that will make us 7-3. We have struggled. We have beat good teams. We have lost to bad teams. That's what a 5-5 team generally does.

exactly..
One could argue,we are a better team than the Giants.
They've beat 1 team with a .500 record or better. (bears 7-3)..the others?
carolina...dallas...detroit...texans...seattle (5-5 now)

Redskins have beat Bears (7-3)..Packers (7-3)....Eagles (7-3) and Titans (now 5-5,but were 5-4 when played)
Only Dallas was a bad team who are 3-7

We just also somehow lost to inferior teams as well.
Honestly...I'm more worried about this Vikings game, than I am the Giants game coming up at the meadowlands where we play bad. (although new stadium)

Yeah, I'm pretty much ignoring these arguments too. My entire post that you just quoted was actually pure sarcasm, I don't really give a crap about that argument because we are 5-5 and we hold our own destiny in this league.

There actually is a football fairy, he made us 5-5 and we should be happy with that.

I'm new to this site and I've been on the other (extremeskins) Redskins site. Unlike over their, I hope the posters over here realize "AFC games are important."
I like the idea of your post but if it comes down to tiebreakers, AFC games are technically the least important, because division games and conference record are both considered before they are. So right now the Rams and Lions games are looming large, wins over both of these teams would seriously help our cause right about now.

Re: The Texans Game Is Starting To Loom Large.

DM72.I certainly understand what you're saying and we could be 6-4.

But we just can't think that way, although it sucks.

Because we could also be 4-6 if Gano misses the OT kick against G.B. (and theysomehow win)
Or 3-7 if he misses the OT kick against Tennessee (and they somehow win)
Or even 2-8 if he misses that kick against Chicago and we somehow lose that one as well.

We should be happy we have 1 more win than we had last season.

And I know there are some gano haters on the boards, but he is arguably the reason we are 5-5 and not worse...

And Ironically and back to your topic...the one he makes, then gets iced...then misses on his 2nd try against the texans, could possibly cost us a playoff birth and a current 6-4 record instead of our 5-5 record.

But I have no doubt...if we have Suisham...I'm not even posting playoff scenario's, because we are right there with the cowboys or worse.

I tune out the shoulda/coulda/woulda posts. We could be 0-10, I mean really? I guess we could be 10-0 with that logic too.

You don't make any sense...what kind of twisted insane logic is that?

+1 for your banishment from the site!

Re: Redskins

When analyzing this team I look at it from both sides of the spectrum. Some may feel we could be 6-4, 7-3, or maybe even 8-2. But those few will fail to mention how we could easily be 4-6, 3-7, and yes... 2-8. Looking at how we've played this year, I'm quite happy that we are fortunate enough to be 5-5 at this present time. Now playoffs? I don't see it... but early on I didn't see 5-5 at this point either so who knows.

I think it's a fact that NO-ONE on this board thinks we could be 6-2 right now:cheeky-sm

Except aceinthehouse, since he predicted a 14-2 record...

Re: The Texans Game Is Starting To Loom Large.

Wow, what an utterly useless thread -- games that we lost we could have won which would result in a better record. Ground breaking.
