Galloway waived Austin promoted to roster

This is a good development, but let's realize that Galloway added a strong veteran presence and guidance for the younger players. This would appear to be how a professionally run football team trains and develops young talent. I can certainly see why this confuses many people.

I liked Austin in the preseason and hoped that he would make the roster opening day. I look forward to seeing what he can do on the real field.

We may all eventually like the look of this youth movement. I'm glad to see some of our young players getting an opportunity, even if their chances come out of necessity.

That is true but if you are a vet you also need to lead by example and the only example Galloway was setting was how to not be a decent NFL wideout. Young guys definitely look up to the older players and basically when an old guy doesn't do anything right, justifying his roster spot by saying he's providing guidance to the younger guys doesn't really matter.
