3 losses at home for a total of less than 10 points is certainly frustrating though

Re: Can the Redskins move back to RFK?
^^Winning does cure everything.
Silly thread. The problem was on the field and in the front office, not the stadium or home field (dis)advantage. Year after year of terrible drafts and player acquisitions combined with suspect coaching staffs is to blame. The problem has been fixed...now it will just take time. Do Redskins fans have the patience to wait a year or two? Probably not. |

Re: Can the Redskins move back to RFK?
I don't know....
They spent the last 13 yrs in Maryland and since this is supposed to be the Metro Politan "AREA" or as the newbies like to call it DMV, then one would think it only fair to have it in Virginia for 10 to 15 yrs before moving back to DC. fairs fair. So...... I'm lobbying for Virginia to be the next place. |

Re: Can the Redskins move back to RFK?
On a more serious note....lol. Rumor is DS is gealous of JJ's new stadium, on top of that I thought the lease on FedEx was at the point where he could opt out if he wanted to or stay another 10 yrs? and lastly the second part to the rumor was he wanted to move back to DC and have a retractable dome. So the team could play inside in bad weather and or open it up in good weather plus he would be able to host a SB more easily.
Will it happen? Who knows. I guess it's all up to whatever deal DC decides to make and how much they are willing to spend. |

There is no "lease" on Fed Ex. Danny Boy owns it. Jack Kent Cooke built it on his own dime and it was part of the purchase price when Danny Boy bought in. There are agreements with PG County on how long the Skins will play there. Those came from the county govt's agreement to let them build the stadium in the first place. That is not a "lease". Danny Boy loved to be able to brag that he had the biggest stadium in the league and pretend that he sold it out every week. (Fact: The Skins have never once sold out a game in Fed Ex - - if by "sell out" you mean every seat in the house was bought for the face value of the ticket.) The only thing that he bitched about was that the league would not put the Super Bowl there. Now he has the reality that Jerry Jones has a bigger stadium; it has a retractible roof; Dallas will get Super Bowls (more than one for sure) and unless he coughs up a LOT more money to make Fed Ex a LOT more appealing, he still won't get a Super Bowl even though New York got one without a roof. All that being said, the Skins will move back to RFK - - and cut their seating capacity by 40% and reduce the number of luxury box seats by almost 65% - - the year after Patrick Ramsey wins the NFL MVP award.

Re: Can the Redskins move back to RFK?
Always thought they should run their preseason games there, they average under what RFK holds so why not?

Re: Can the Redskins move back to RFK?
BTW...this team is so predictable
I bet anybody we beat the Giants on the road (Playoff team) Beat Tampa at home (Playoff team) Beat Jacksonville on the road (possible playoff team) But somehow NOT make the Playoffs losing to dallas on the road (finished) Or lose the Home game finale against the Giants in a "win, we are in" scenario That's just how we roll...:cheeky-sm

Re: Can the Redskins move back to RFK?
I agree but FedEx has been critized by skins fans for years. When GB played there I swear it sounded like we were on the road.

Re: Can the Redskins move back to RFK?
This much is at least true, even if the team didn't win every game it played at RFK. The fact is that RFK's reputation as an uninviting place for road teams predated the glory years of the 80s, and it's not hard to understand why. The 56,000 seats were packed in tightly, and, as players that played in it against the Redskins have said, the crowd seemed to be on top of them. And with only 56,000 seats, tickets were far more at a premium, and those were, of course, the pre-Stub Hub days, so it wasn't common that a Redskin fan would complain about the number of visiting team fans. While I agree with the general assessment of others that the team wouldn't have fared any better over the years had it remained at RFK, there can't be any doubt that there was a vibe at RFK that vanished with the team's move to the crater-like FedEx.
