6. He's still young
7. We can trade AH to Houston cause they play a 4-3 and need help on defense.
as a wvu homer i'm all for it. he showed flashes his rokkie year, then fell off and had some fumbling issues. and quite honestly it seems like a realistic enough trade, it would be nice to get them to throw in a late pick as well.

Let Houston cut him loose, than pick him up.

It is very obvious that we need o-line help. Everyone knows that. The is the first priority. But this offense also needs a homerun hitter too. I'm thinking with a little coaching up with the fumble problem, like Tiki Barber got, this guy would be a perfect fit here.

Re: Steve Slaton

I'd be fine with them drafting a WR with the first pick and attacking the Oline in Free Agency

I'm only fine with this approach if the O-lineman is 27 or younger. I don't want a 34 year old Olin Kreutz on the downside of his career. If we're going to give big FA money to a lineman, it should be for a guy whose best football is still ahead of him. Nick Mangold would be an excellent upgrade at C, and he will only be 27 next year.

I completely agree, but Nick Mangold is a Pro Bowl center, and you know he won't come cheap. And who's to say the Jets will release him? Just because his contract might be up doesn't mean the Jets don't want him back.

How the Nick Mangold contract negotiations were resurrected
Ouch. Mangold is a moot point then. I heard his sister plays football though. Maybe she can play better than Rabach at this point.

Were you not part of this site when his sister was?

Re: Steve Slaton

O-Line to Keep

~ T. Williams
~ W. Montgomery
~ Dockery (probably re-work deal)

That's it .... draft another OL in 1st Round ... sign Steve Breaston WR .. maybe Reggie Wayne WR ...

Re: Steve Slaton

What I want to know is when did Dock start playing like garbage? I thought he was doing well at the beginning and then all of a sudden he was playing back up. I definitely agree if we do not address the O-line first and foremost, nothing else we do will matter. Who cares if you have good receivers, running back and even QB if no one has the time to do anything b/c the line is always getting blown up. Why would you think Capers and Cook would be any better next year if they weren't good enough to make the squad this year?
