LaRon Landry to IR

[GridIron26]

This is bittersweet news but in the end, it is right move.. Since we are out of playoff hunts, there's no point to rush Landry back in the game if he is not 100% healthy.. Basically what mooby said, says it all for me..

This will give us a chance to evaluate players and see who can be the best back-up to Landry for next season..

Reed Doughty hasn't played bad in his absence, but that's because Doughty has always been a true strong safety as opposed to free safety where he's out of position. I'd keep Doughty for next season, get rid of Horton because he's expendable (we don't need 3 true strong safeties on the roster, we should have 2 strong and 2 free), make Kareem Moore a backup safety (seriously don't understand how you can play free safety and not try to be a physical presence) and get a good free safety through free agency or the draft/trade.
