SC, it also may be warranted if you are out of contention (we are), the player cut is old/not going to be on the team next year(he is, and wasn't), and you want to explore other options(I guess they do).

I am sure I am just justifying, but in the end, this move wasn't a huge deal. Shame for HS though.
