Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
Taylor and Moss both have contracts and should be at workouts. Taylor has not earned a contract redo yet-and Moss would help his cause by being at workouts.

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
This just pisses me off to no end. I just don't get this "the world owes me something" attitude. This shows tremedously poor character for both of them as far as I'm concerned. What great team leaders they are!
Neither one of them have an excuse for not being there. Period.

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
Exactly. I mean don't you think that GIBBS would step up to the plate for them on their contracts if they showed up to the workouts. I think if you're a team player, things will work themselves out because people will bust their ass for you if you do for them.

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
Moss missing the work out sends a big message. From reading the posts on this web sight from the guys that defended the Coles for Moss trade...Moss was supposed to be a better team player than Coles. He was supposed to have a better attitude and be a better locker room guy, because Coles did not want to be here.
Not a good start for Moss! As for ST, I do not care that he is not here for the work outs. He knows our system and had a great year last year. He is not a guy that regularly comes in out of shape. He is fit as a fiddle and a great player. I do not see how these VOLUNTARTY work outs are going to help him, except expose him to the possibility of injury. |

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
I still wish he could have showed. I'm sure he's training down in Florida, but I would like to see a little more team-first attitude out of him.
All I hope is that neither of these situations are contract-based, even though I bet they are.

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
The redskins really need to start drafting/signing a different type of player. Talent is fine but its not enough, the skins need to focus more on the player's inteligence/maturity/work ethic. NE is the best example of this, sure they have talent (every nfl team does) but they also have the highest team % of college graduate players. I think this team intelligence is at least as much if not more important a factor in their run than the football talent.
The skins need to stop signing player with million dollar bodies and 2 cent heads. When the do, they will start winning titles. |

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
They definitely need to find a mix of the two, however I am not opposed to taking physical freaks like Taylor if it means he might do something unacceptable every now and then. People like Randy Moss who are all talent and poison; those are the people who I wouldn't wish on the Skins.

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
A physical freak is worthless if the player cant adjust or is constantly out of position. Everyone in the NFL is talented and while some players are freaks (like LA) the reality is they just cant dominate in the nfl like Shaq can in the nba.
A smart team of average nfl players would pummel a team of Moss', LA's, & Taylors. |

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
I'm stunned to hear that Taylor may not be there because he wants to restructure his contract!!! He's not proved anything to anyone yet. He finally earned his starting position last season & now he feels he should be paid better..? I don't see Taylor staying with the Skins after his contract expires, since he's been here he's been all about ST & not about being a Skin. He should learn something from Lavar, Jansen, & Samuels who all showed they love playing in Washington, oh & did I forget to mention that they are all Pro Bowlers too. Sean wake up & get your ass down to the work outs.
Moss is in my opinion, just another small WR who thinks he's large & in charge. The Jets moved him for obvious reasons & so will the Skins soon enough. What happened to players who played for the pride of the game & not just for the $$$ Football players are losing their objectivity.

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
I would disagree on that. I do completely agree that the Redskins should look more into character (and I think Gibbs is doing that). I do think that it's really hard to know TRUE character individuals unless it is something that is obvious from college (Clarett) or from another team. I think that the people that the Skins have signed in the off-season (with the exception of Moss) SEEM to be good character guys.

What makes Moss a bad character but Taylor good?

Re: Taylor, Moss Miss Redskins Workouts
I didn't say Taylor was good. I AM saying that Moss is not sending good signals because he has no reason not to be at the workouts being a new player at all.
I'd prefer if Taylor were at the team workouts but I think I read somewhere that the U players are all working out in Florida. Taylor is definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I wouldn't trade him for any player in last year's draft.
