Actually, Brad Johnson was a high cost trade acquisition. First round QB busts aren't too bad actually if it's just the 1st rounder and you don't waste anything else to pick the QB. Oakland totally bombed with Russell, but it seems that they recovered in the next season to have a pretty damn talented team that even a mediocre QB like JC can find some success there. JC's failure here hurt us more because it cost us picks.
