I would offer this year's 1st and 2nd rounder + McNabb and Haynesworth and if necessary next year's 1st. See if they listen. The only player I would make that trade for would be Luck, he is worth it.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft

I actually think us trading into the first pick and getting Luck is a real option. Carolina is a small market and I doubt they want to pay 1st overall money, they just drafted a guy who was supposed to go in the first round and who they can't really evaluate yet due to his poor supporting cast, and they have so many needs I'm sure they would love to get a few extra picks either this year or in the future.

If we could get Luck for our 1st, D McNabb, next years 1st, and next years 3rd I would be all about that. You've gotta think if you think this guy is the next great QB to come out what would you give up for him (knowing what you know now if you could go back what would you give up for Peyton).

With all that being said I don't really like any of the other QB's

Locker never really put up good numbers (And was aweful this year) and is mostly rated highly due to his measurables (I don't know about you but I don't want a guy who is just a workout warrior as my QB)

Gabbert came from the same system Chase Daniel put up huge numbers in, the only difference is his size.

Newton I actually think might be good but he seems like a big risk.

Mallett apparently has some maturity/ character concerns.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft

Carolina Panthers will not trade from their spot. This is a team 7 years removed and three points added to being Super Bowl champions. They're not as small market as some may think and would want nothing more than to fire John Fox, draft Andrew Luck, trade Jimmy Clausen (would make no sense to keep him around) and get the new era rolling. Sure they have terrible depth and could use 3 or 4 extra first rounders at the expense of Luck, but they're still going to be finishing bottom 5 waiting for their next chance at a stud QB. Realistically this just doesn't make sense.

Now for the Redskins, if Shanny likes one of Mallett (very unlikely) or Gabbert you draft them at #10. If he doesn't like either of them and feels that he has a better option of finding that guy who can replace Andre Carter in Von Miller or Ryan Kerrigan then you draft him. Imagine if we had drafted Mark Sanchez and not Brian Orakpo.... I can't even describe the amount of pressure Sanchez would have been under and how many analysts would have written him off. Go with what fits our system, we're not in position to take those huge risks unless Gabbert or Mallett have an outstanding day during a pre-draft invite.

If I had any say in this I would go Fairley/Green/Miller/Kerrigan Round 1. Round 2 would be more defense and round 5 would be a project QB behind Rex (Yes I said it..) preferably Pat Devlin.

McNabb & Haynesworth are worth nothing to Carolina. It will take lots of draft picks to get their attention. Based on the draft value chart which is outdated but still a decent guideline, all the draft picks you mention would still leave us a couple hundred points short of the 3000 points that the #1 overall pick is worth. And if luck is as good as advertised then you will need to go above the 3000 points to get their attention.

I guess it's a moot point, Carolina should draft him.

I'm a firm believer that a talent like that doesn't come around too often and would pull a Ditka. Build the Vinny way for 2 seasons through FA. The tough part is the lockout next year screwing up FA.

If they say they are building around Claussen then the Luck trade market begins at #2 instead of #1. No way they let another team have that windfall. Luck will be #1 overall either to Carolina or whoever pays the price.
