There are only so many numbers a position can wear. I have no problems with duplicate numbers myself. Personally, when I played soccer I was pretty attached to my #13. Wasn't the end of the world if I didn't get it one season, but I really liked to have it. If I was told I couldn't wear it because someone who retired a few years ago had it, I might be upset. There are tons of Redskins greats, we can't cut out 30 numbers, I mean damn. We have more than that many people coming to camp!

I mean, there is definitly a respect factor to asking, just like Fred Smoot did with Deion Sanders. He asked him if he could wear 21, Deion said sure. However, if we were to get KWII who knows, maybe he'd shadow Monk. He has the potential to be great. Is that what people are afraid of?

big difference between Deion's history with the club and Monks'. Deion had more years being an enemy as a cowboy than as a member of the redskins but Monk was a productive part of the team for 14 years I believe.
