Re: R.i.p. Atdhe

Why doesn't the NFL wake up and just make an affordable online package for those who wish to catch games when they are either on the road or don't live in the coverage area? Especially those who do not have Directv?

In the future it will happen, but probably the current deal with the NFL and DirecTV puts a cramp in trying to make that happen right now.

I never understood why it was that the NFL only had chosen on satellite company to allow fans to see any game they want. Makes no sense unless you work for Directv!

Just seems like more of a chance for more money for the NFL if they had deals with other cable and satellite providers. Maybe the other providers felt that it would cost the more than what they could put into it to provide something similar to what Directv offers with the NFL Sunday Ticket.

Then again, I have Directv (although I'll probably ditch it soon) and have never paid for the Sunday Ticket. I'm sure I might if I was not living in Redskins coverage area and had the extra money to do so.

The NFL doesn't like to take to many risk so more times then not they go for the one carrier willing to pay a premium for exclusive rights rather then have multiple advocates making money for the league. Still the way they go about it from video games to Sunday Ticket has always rubbed me the wrong way.

By the way is anyone else scared to death of this attempt by the government to take over the internet? I'm not a political guy nor a conspiracy guy but this sudden public interest in internet kill switches as well as the government seizure of Atdhe has me screaming BS.

it was the same reason that every team had to start wearing Reebok.
