Okay, I'm just going to throw a free agent quarterback that I like out there, and see if people like the idea or hate the idea and thing I should be eaten alive by fire ants, or whatever.

I'm totally with you. I've brought up Moore off and on for a couple of years now. I'm not 100% sure he can be a long term solution as a starter. But I think at the very least he's a very solid backup with starter capabilities. And honestly, I prefer him to Beck.

Me too. At least Matt Moore has started and actually been successful before. And who knows, Mike had luck with Brian Griese, and Gus Ferrotte, and those kind of guys.

I like Drew Stanton as well. He can hit that Dougie.

I mean at worse they're back-ups, but Mike seems to have luck in these situations, and they're young and have some talent.

Matt Leinart and Tyler Thigpen are two other guys. I mean again, maybe they don't start but, you know, it's something. Thigpen's got one more win as a quarterback than Beck does. And I like John Beck.

As a backup he's worth a look. As a starter hell no.

Also, at 26 years old, I certainly wouldn't put Kevin Kolb anywhere near "gray beards."

Looking around the league, there are a handful of teams that could use an upgrade on their interior offensive line, and Davin Joseph is poised to hit unrestricted free agency once the league business year begins. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear to want him back, but would he rather test the market and cash in, as is his right?When asked Tuesday if he could predict where he'd be playing this fall, Joseph revealed the nuanced nature of negotiations in pro sports.

"Gosh, it is tough. If you ask me what I want to do versus what is going to happen it is two different scenarios," Joseph noted, per Pewter Report. "I want to stay. I want to stay, but I have to do what is best for me and my family. That is the hard part about free agency. You build something here. You love your coaches. You love the players. You love the community but at the end of the day it is a business, so it is a tough decision to make. Hopefully everything makes sense for me to stay here."

Translation: Pay me, Glazer family.

The good news is, the Bucs are one of the teams that will need to spend money to get to the salary floor -- which could be a bigger story this offseason than teams trying to stay under the cap, in the opinion of ESPN AFC South blogger Paul Kuharsky. His NFC South-based colleague Pat Yasinskas explained back on June 23 how this might affect things this offseason:

"There's been talk that a new agreement could require all teams to use somewhere near 90 percent of the salary-cap space. That means the Bucs theoretically would have to spend somewhere close to $50 million in cap space to meet the minimum. Could that lead to the Bucs being players in free agency? Yes, but I don't think you'll see them going crazy. They have some of their own free agents (like Joseph and Cadillac Williams) that they want to keep. The Bucs also have some other young players under contract for the moment that could be in line for contract extensions. Tampa Bay's in a youth movement and the Bucs will do their best to keep their core intact first. They could make some moves in free agency. But I don't expect to see them going out and signing a bunch of big-name free agents who are in their 30s."

Stanton's not bad. GTripp is a huge, huge, huge, huge, huge fan of Stanton (slight exaggeration)

I don't know that Leinart gets it. Thigpen is exciting at times, but not-in my opinion-the solution.

Moore's biggest problem is that he got hurt last year so he never could find his footing, plus his supporting cast wasn't too strong.

Yea out of those quarterbacks my list would be Stanton Moore Thigpen then leinart. I don't know if Leinart has gotten any more humble or a better player

That's what I was thinking, Smoot. I mean, he had Steve Smith...and Steve Smith. I mean, that was it. Gettis and LaFell are good young players, but they weren't scaring anyone. They didn't have a tight end. DeAngelo Williams was injured, Jonathan Stewart got knicked up, some of their linemen were hurt.

Leinart is more an option, to me, because he knows the offense because he spent a season in it (or something pretty much identical to it) in Houston. Maybe he's not a starter but he could be a viable third guy, and they drafted T.J Yates which says to me they're not looking to bring Leinart back.

What I saw of Stanton last season I liked. He can make some plays with his legs, he's got a good arm, good accuracy. And him and Armstrong can have a Dougie off in training camp.

There's lots of viable back-up guys that are capable of being developed in the secondary market, which is why I don't think we'll be going after a Vince Young or someone like that.
