Re: Any news on Gardner?
Gardner say's he wants out and then holds up the trades with contract demands, I would just sit him on the bench for the year and let him think about his value after he misses the entire year sitting instead of playing, that should motivate him.

I know I post this website a lot, but the new blog has a good opinion of the whole draft thing.

Re: Any news on Gardner?
Say it WERE to happen, what you guys think of that?
Personally, I would like to have Taylor but that would be a HELL of a price considering it wasn't our defense that was close to the last of the league.

Re: Any news on Gardner?
hmm getting taylor and the number 2 pick for gardner and the 9th pick and the 25th pick then trading down from #2 to get a first and a second sounds real nice equals taylor a 1st and a second for gardner the 9th and the 25th pick sounds pretty darn good to me. sounds like miami would like those two picks they could get what they want for those picks. but as far as giving up next years first round pick we not gonna be that bad this year that pick will not be an impact player who knows what we would get next year we need improvement now then worry about next year next year. if we hadve stayed like we were and lets say ramsey dont have good receivers and dont produce then we would need that first round pick next year for a QB anyway.

Re: Any news on Gardner?
all ye of little faith i liked it better when i was younger and didnt know anything until preseason and was like who is that QB when one of are starters got hurt and watched that QB win games. I am rooting for the skins. who should we pick with our picks everyone knows we gonna get a corner. i am not sold on braylon edwards seems like westbrook to me. the LC deal he was a spurrier guy so is gardner is a shotty guy and Ramsey another spurrier guy. every coach gotta get their guys in...give coach come time Gardner didnt turned out we may get something for him then again we not...?

Re: Any news on Gardner?
I wouldn't do the taylor trade, if DE is the direction we are going I would stay pat at and take Merriman, he's a stronger younger version of Taylor and a better all around football player, Taylor may rush the passer better than Merriman but Merriman will be no slouch pressuring the QB and he's 9 years younger to boot and hit's much harder than Taylor.

Re: Any news on Gardner?
A few thoughts…
1. I don’t want Jason Taylor. Sooner or later he’s going to run out of gas just like Warren Sapp did. Besides, getting Taylor only gives the front office another one of their yearly excuses not to use a high draft pick on a defensive linemen. 2. We’ve heard it here a thousand times. Teams throughout the league already see Rod Gardner like a broken refrigerator sitting outside somebody’s house ready to be picked up by the Salvation Army. And if we’ve thought of it here at the Warpath, you’ve got to believe that other NFL general managers know this and aren’t going to fall for it -- unless of course, the shoe is on the other foot, and it’s Washington’s front office considering such a move. 3. I keep reading how everything Jason Campbell did at Auburn means nothing because he had two good running backs behind him. If that’s the case, what could we expect out of Campbell if Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts are his running backs here? 4. Regarding thought #3: Don’t get me wrong. It would be ridiculous to select Campbell with three quarterbacks already on the roster. The only way it would make any sense is if there’s a way to get rid of that waste of space Mark Brunell. And according to cap figures I’ve heard, it ain’t happening. Not only that, Gibbs doesn’t have time for a project at QB right now. |

picking campbell would be great move bc now ramsey has to perform. and campbell has mroe legs, bigger college, more finesse on the deep ball, and over 60% CP career (while throwing all those deep balls) and last...looks to be a QUIET GET THE JOB DONE GUY...now tell me why that would be a bad pick...dump hasslebeck...move brunell to third string and dump after june 1 in 06.. and last, who cares about gibbs having to breed a qb...the redskins still have a future no matter what happens...why couldnt coach williams take over after gibbs and hire a good OC?? campbell would be a good pick IMO |

Re: Any news on Gardner?
ramsey has to perform regardless of the skins drafting or not drafting campbell. this is ramsey's year to make him or break him. no more excuses. i like ramsey and personely feel that he is going to play very well this season and prove his critics wrong.

Re: Any news on Gardner?
If Ramsey has a poor year this year he will be dealt away before the draft next year for whatever we can get for him. Hopefully this doesn't happen, but if it does can we please deal him before the draft. This Gardner crap is really starting to tick me off. You have to strike when the iron is hot.
