strike = players refuse to work
lockout = owners refuse to let players work

Can we just compromise and call it a strikeout?? It's almost opening day. (BTW I hate baseball)

No it isn't. A lockout the players can get unemployment,a strike they can't becuase they choose not to work ...a lockout was beyound the control of the employee.
P.S ......I say unemployment ...not sure if they pay into it or not , a normal Union yes ...NFL ....I don't know .

Snyder really is a clueless moron isn't he? I mean what is the point of this, where's the benefit for him or the team?

The Montreal Canadiens requested that Habs Inside/Out be renamed Hockey Inside/Out yesterday or something. H I/O now sports a new URL and the bloggers changed their email URL. So I guess this isn't unique to Danny.
(BTW, I'm a traitor)

This team needs all the good will and press that it can get, and I don't think pulling the Trademark card at the local paper (who you've been feuding with for a decade) is going to help you any. This franchise is at a crucial stage right now. Many fans can be won or lost in a matter of a few years. It's really up to Danny boy and how he plays it. Is he going to continue to be that arrogant asshole that doesn't listen to anybody and does exactly what he wants or is he going to be that guy that can shut the **** up, stay out of the football operations and let professionals run his team. For our sakes, I hope it's the latter. Interesting enough the Habs decided to get their named pulled from their local paper at a time their fans were 11th on the list of worst fans in America. You'd think they'd need all the good press they can get. |

Nah, I think more likely that it's because people have accused the organization and Jacques Martin of lying about Pacioretty's injury because of a couple articles, one of which was from a Gazette author. Habs fans wouldn't care about it because their owner hasn't alienated them at all, unlike here. Besides, Arpon Basu has a blog call the Daily Hab-it.

Re: Danny Snyder Forces The Washington Post to Rename “Redskins Insider” to “Football Insider”
The Habs have something like 28 beat writers (and no that is not a random number meant to serve as an exaggeration) so I imagine that this decision might have more to do with being fair to all the competing media outlets happy. Still even if my assumption is off the mark the fact remains that the story here with the Redskins is coming after this fiasco with the Examiner.

Mr. Daniel Snyder Puts Himself In Common Man Shoes and Doesnt Act Like an Asshole For About 10-15 Minutes; Meanwhile Team Has Losing Record During His Tenure I mean is trying to buy some positive PR by buying Dan Stienberg 10-15 minutes of chat time and a beer a positive thing or just a non-negative thing? Call me old fashion but I just don’t like people who regularly do bad things even if they try and make up for it every once in a while. Youre supposed to do non-negative stuff AND nice stuff all the time. |
