My experience is that you have to set firm boundaries.

On one hand, people begin to think of your home as your workplace only and will bother you at odd times (work-related calls at 6 AM, 10 PM, Sundays, etc. at home).

On the other hand, some non-work folks may not get that your home is your work place, and feel like they can drop by any time and hang out because you are home. Then it becomes hard to be productive.
