Charity doesn't necessarily make you a good person. Even Hitler and Stalin gave to charity. Heck Snyder tried to use his charity events as a get out of jail free card the media. Not saying thats why he did it, but some people don't really understand the concept of charity where the only times you should advertise is when your filling out your tax return or when your story will encourage someone else to give or donate. Unfortunately some people use charity to rid their concense of guilt or to get other people to like them (ie the attempt to buy respect overshadows the actual purpose of a charitable act).
Anyway I'm getting off track. The point is you can give to or start a charity and still be a jerk.
