Re: Overall draft grade
Another freak-out. I wouldn't exactly characterize it as disarray. We filled a need at CB with a GREAT player, and although the pick was questionable, we filled a need at having a young backup QB.

Re: Overall draft grade
I love how everyone thinks they know whats going on in Redskins Park. Total disarray......please, how would you know?
I swear sometimes it make me wonder why some of our fellow warpathers haven't been hired in the NFL, since we have GM's, Scouts, and "talent evaluators". C'mon guys, let the professionals do their work, and save the criticism for the end of the season. This is the offseason, no games have been played yet, so lets be patient and wait and see. |

Re: Overall draft grade
Exactly. Like I said before, constructive criticism and critiquing is just that. However, full-fledged mutiny is uncalled for at this time of year.
At LEAST give it til preseason.

Who knows, maybe Campbell will be like Schaub in Atlanta?

Re: Overall draft grade
I would have given this draft an A+ if we had picked up Heath Miller with 25. We still need a solid tight end. Speculation around local media is that Gibbs was never sold on Ramsey and that he is a dying breed being a pure pocket passer. I guess we will all know about half way through this season. If any of you guys have comcast on demand check out Robert McCune. This guy scares me.

Re: Overall draft grade
I gave a "C". The only reason I voted this way, is because I have the option of hind sight, which the skins FO didn't have during the draft, I would have taken Mike Williams w/the 9 pick and the Clemson CB with the 25TH. This would have addressed our top needs. The rest of the draft was excellent. Don't be surprised to see McCuen start by the middle of the season, I saw him play multiple times, he is a beast. He will actually make Levar look small!
I don't think that top 10 CB are needed in the leabue anymore, it is all about the system. Look at both of the superbowl teams last year, both teams basically started rookies. The Pats have let Mallow and Law go, both PRO BOWLERS. I would have liked a DL taken somewhere, but not at the expense of Williams or the Clemson DB, however what was taken from the 4th on was fine by me.

Re: Overall draft grade
I would've done the following:
1st - WR Mike Williams 1st - CB Marlin Jackson 4th - DT Antaaj Hawthorne 5th - MLB Robert McCune 6th - TE Joel Dressen 7th - Don't Know We screwed this draft up pretty well. I like Rogers and McCune, but that's about it. I give em a C-. |

No one knows what is going on in Redskin Park, but to say that because of that we can't discuss the Redskins is crazy. Why have a site devoted to discussing the Redskins if we can't discuss the Redskins? I try to be fair in assessing the Redskins' moves - I praise certain moves and criticize others. I don't claim to be a GM, scout, or talent evaluator. But that doesn't mean that I can't say my piece....especially when I am "knowledgeable fan." As the top of this website proclaims, the Warpath is a forum for discussion. |

Re: Overall draft grade
Nothing wrong with discussing, I guess it's the strong attitudes that some people have that rub people the wrong way.

Exactly. Ramseyfan, thats exactly how I feel. I have no problem discussing/criticizing the Redskins moves. I just don't like it when some people think they know more than the other. Yes, we're all knowledgeable fans, and I enjoy this site, but we can't sit here and think we know more than the coaching staff, scouts, and GM's. Nothing wrong with opinions, but don't act like you know more than the next guy. Know what I mean? |

Re: Overall draft grade
And you WERE the next guy Redskins_P, so Ramseyfan has a distinct advantage.
