Some during the Clinton era, some more recently. Since Obama was elected they've all, to a man, walked away from it like it was leprosy. The Heritage Foundation, a very prominent Republican think tank, was for it sometime ago, now they've deemed it unconstitutional.

Here's an article talking about it, there are plenty more out there that might have a more conservative point of view. In their defense, Heritage says their plan wasn't exactly like Obama's and that it didn't require a government takeover. (neither does Obama's plan) To that I say bullpucky because how they were for the individual mandate, yet against the government implementing I'm not quite sure about. Maybe Sliggin can explain that one to me.
