Honestly do yourself a favor and watch Breaking Bad you will love it. The 1st season is really short. 2 and 3 are only like 13 episodes. IT is fun to watch on DVD becasue you can marathon them and a lot of the plot will pull from way back, that way it is fresh in your memory.

As far as the Killing I am unsure of it's return.
Completely agree. The writers really reward viewers who pay close attention. For instance a very minor character in one episode of season 2 may end up playing a big role in a story arc in season 3.
Also, the character evolution is really well thought out and organic, There have only been about 30 episodes but the characters are really different now from how they started, but in a totally believable way.

Seriously SS, catch up on Netflix or whatever in time for the new season!
