Re: Redskins sign QB Kellen Clemens
Well, I think he appreciates what Houston did for him last year, and with Houston he's perhaps one injury away from starting whereas he and Seattle he may be two. I never really thought Seattle was a serious choice for him, but apparently it was, I did think he'd give serious consideration to the Redskins. But maybe we didn't extend the same courtesy to him.

I actually hope the kid from Ind. makes the team. He was pretty good in the Big Ten. But Clemens is just awful.

Re: Redskins sign QB Kellen Clemens
He's definitely going to Houston and Vince Young tells me ('cause that's how I roll) he's not coming to Washington...but then again I've been "lied" to in the past

Re: Redskins sign QB Kellen Clemens
EDIT: Vince Young is now very much back in play. Nothing can happen of course before he gets cut but he's once again a strong possibility

He has 5 TD's and 11 int's. I see a trend with our QB's.

Re: Redskins sign QB Kellen Clemens
I'm a little confused on the signing of Clemens, who has been a career-back up thus far in the NFL. That leaves us with John Beck, also a backup, and Rex Grossman, who is now the only proven NFL starter on our QB chart.
I want to ask the veteran members here why the Redskins didnt go after a starting caliber Free Agent QB? Someone like Matt Hasselbeck, or Marc Bulger? I think Bulger is finished but he has tons of starting expereince, and I could see him lasting here for one year while we prepare for the future. Is the answer just as simple as Mike Shanahan beleives that he can win with these guys? Does this make Rex the favorite to start??

The same rationale can be applied to the signing of W/R we've signed thus far. I'm convinced the team is looking for a long term answer at the QB position and don't feel the answer would come in this off-season and weren't in a hurry to repeat the mistake of last season. We don't need anymore placeholders, we have a couple of them in place already. The next serious QB move should be one with a lasting affect, not someone for a year and be gone. We're working on three for three now and we're not satisfied with what we have, so in all probability next year we'll be four for four. Hard to have any sustained success that way.
