Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
FA's have to wait to report to camp until august 2nd. Anyone know if the same is true for traded players?

evaluator says Gaffney can be a good No. 2; calls him a possession guy. smart.. but must know how to use him (McDaniels did). |

Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
I'm going to go ahead and say it -- I understand these are just the first of Shanny's/BA's moves in free agency but I do not understand the moves that are happening right now. No movement for the corners, no pieces for the OL, getting Kellen Clemens, Jabar Gaffney and Donte Stallworth on the first day? and IMO, overpaying for cofield? releasing/trading mcnabb for 1 or 2 6th rounder 1 year after trading a 2nd rounder for him....losing faith, am I the only one?

I say hang in there and as far as McNabb goes no one was really dieing for him so what we got is decent. I think MS would be the first to say the McNabb experiment was a fail.

Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
We got we could for McNabb and the fact we got anything amazes me. As for the rest, while I am not blown away by any of the moves, none of them strike me as "Wow, that was Vinny Cerrato dumb".
If everything wasn't so compressed, then maybe we get more feedback from the club as to why certain moves are being made. Right now, they are so busy dealing we haven't heard why they are doing what they are doing. Certainly nothing to "lose faith" over. Signing our free agents. Getting bodies for camp and hoping some may stick. Not trading away draft choices. Being patient. Getting something where it looked like we would get nothing (both Jarmon & McNabb) - I'm okay with all of that.

Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Josh McDaniels is a far better playcaller than Kyle Shanahan. I think we need to factor that in when considering the relative value of Jabar Gaffney here. I do think he was a pretty good player the last two years and pretty much just stepped up and flat replaced Brandon Marshall's production without monopolizing the offense this year.

The Redskins scheme, I think, is more of a WR friendly scheme. Which might incorporate 4 WR's at times, but that could be 2 WR's and 2 TE's, or 3 WR's and 1 TE. So who knows. |

Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
I'd rather see the Skins stockpile offensive and defensive linemen. You can never have enough help on the line. This has been the downfall for a number of years. Too many overpriced, under-performing skilled players and not enough quality line play. Who is going to throw to all these receivers?

Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Um, I'd like to point out that Gaffney, over the last two years, has put up the following numbers:
2009: 54 catches, 732 yards, 13.6 avg, 2 TDs 2010: 65 catches, 875 yards, 13.5 avg, 2 TDs Those yardage and TD numbers look strikingly similar to Anthony Armstrong's. Doesn't anybody like depth in their receiving corps? I'm fine with this move. Let the rooks compete with guys like this and see what shakes out.

Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
So with 20 some WR's on our roster I guess we could still be in the Braylon Edwards running.
Also when I heard we traded for a Broncos receiver I thought Eddie Royal, but of course we get the 30 year old short fast guy. (see a trend here)

It would have been a waste if we had cut him, instead we turned him into a productive WR.
