Mike Sellers drops a rope from Beck. Maybe I am wrong about Sellers. Perhaps he is on his way out?
If he is he won't be out of work long. I cannot remember who but a defensive coordinater from one of the teams that we played last year stated that Sellars was the best player on our offense. I heard it from one of the announcers during the broadcast, not the coach himself.

Apparently SmootSmack didn't tell us he was at practice today. LOL.:

"Redskins.com
Fan shouts out "ATV" as Ryan Torain breaks loose on a run to the left. "ATV" could be one of best Redskins nicknames of recent memory."

Re: Training camp 2011 thread

You would think Sellers is all but done. He is put in a situation where he can't win. Paulsen, Davis and Cooley are better than him 11 times out of 10.

MS's comments are the only thing that would make me think otherwise. He said something to the tune of "we already know what Sellers can do at FB, we want to see what else he can provide us. It is nice to have the luxury of a player who can play several positions". Perhaps we keep him as a hybrid and ST player? That is the only real fit, since we ran less and less FB sets last year.

Looks like Jarvis Jenkins is doing well. So much for the criticism of him missing out the players workouts...

"Redskins.com
Jarvis Jenkins continues to impress, getting a strong push up the middle and slowing a run by Ryan Torain."

"Rich Campbell
It's early and the pads aren't out yet, but I've yet to see a Redskins o-lineman stop Jarvis Jenkins & his combo of strength, speed & length"

A real mystery man of the draft imo. Taken high enough to expect some sort of contribution this year just waiting to see where he will play. I think most had him a DE, anyword where he is lining up in camp?

Re: Training camp 2011 thread

I think we're being a bit hard on Beck. Offense is always slower to come around, especially with a shortened offseason. We always complain about being the same ol' Redskins. We got Beck for cheap, and he has some tools that may make him succesful. Not to mention he probably hasn't even learned the names of half the receivers he's throwing to right now. Chemistry takes some time to build. The long ball is overrated. If he's hitting the short and intermediate routes regularly, that is the bread and butter of succesful offenses.

We know what Rex has, which is okay -- but he's a gunslinger. Let's see what Beck offers. If you're expecting 10 wins from the skins this year you're delusional, so lets give someone a chance to either shine or fail.

You can't preach patience and building a team the right way, then want us to trade for Orton/Palmer/Kolb/whoever.

Jarvis is a beast. Good pick up. Under rated. He could be a DL staple for years to come

Here's a good match up: J. Jenkins vs. T. Williams:

"Rich Campbell
And there goes Trent Williams driving Jenkins into the defensive backfield on a run. Asst OL coach Chris Morgan was ecstatic. #Redskins"

Good for Trent. His run blocking was really inconsistent last year.

I feel like TW is a man on a mission this year.

Agreed. I don't get the criticism that he got last year. The guy went up against some of the best pass rushers in the league. I think he will improve in his second year and live up to the expectations of being a first rounder.

Lets hear Haslett's reaction!

Trent will be known as one of the best in the league soon. Jarvis Jenkins should also become a good player for us, as he should being the 41st overall pick. I was hoping he could be the new NT, but at this point he's not.

Re: Training camp 2011 thread

If MS said they are just "trying" Sellers at TE that could mean they think he's done at FB, or just the opposite. I think if Darrel Young shows he can lead block, Sellers is done. His play really slipped last year.
