Special Teams

[Longtimefan]

I'm convinced we did much to improve our ST with our last four draft choices. It seems we had ST in mind after our first two selections. All four of these guys I hope will help. Sally Jenkins touched on this subject in her article in the Post this morning. We have not done well in the latter rounds of the draft, and I'm hoping this year will be an exception.

We seem to always have good return men but for some odd reason they never do well, including Deon. Maybe we get some true STeamers and less stars and the result will be different. I remember what a stickler George Allen was for ST. He kept Bill Mallencheck on the team a couple years just to block kicks, beleiving that ST would win at least two games for us each season. Maybe we can somehow get back to that type special teams play in the future. And, how many think Antonio Brown may get a look at wide receiver in some situations?

Good ST in 05

One question I have about specials teams play... I was kinda young back then but didn't Gibbs put more tricks into his ST, especially kick returns?

I kinda remember at some point you would see the Skins doing some end around or laterals in their ST play.
