The 49ers have really had one of the worst offseasons of any team. They needed a QB, so they re-signed Alex Smith for a 5th chance. Maybe Harbaugh can finally get him to succeed, but there were better options out there. They lost a solid NT and CB...and really have not added anyone of real impact, Rogers included. They subtracted a lot more than they added, but they did it without being in cap trouble like Dallas...it's like they're trying to make Jim Harbaugh's job tougher.

Also, Crabtree is out 4-6 weeks with a foot injury and Gore wants paid and WAS holding out. If not for the new holdout fines, he'd be neutering that team.

I expect to see Kaepernick under center by the time we play them in Week 9.
